The facade has started to come up on on Amager Bakke.

We are so lucky in the Copenhagen sub forum that one of the local guys has a small airplane and today he took these pictures.


from top tó down the pictures shows....

Pictures 1, 2 and 3 shows the development near Amager Strandpark

Number 4 shows Amager Bakke

Number 5 shows UCC Campus Carlsberg and the Bohr Tower

Number 6 Shows some railroad construction just east of M4

Number 7 shows Ørestad Syd with the Royal Arena to the left, The famous 8 tallet building by BIG is also visible.

Number 8 shows Sydhavnen (southern Docklands) to the left of the harbour and Islands Brygge to the right.

Number 9 shows the southern part of Islands Brygge.

Number 10 shows Skuespilhuset (National Theatre), Kvæsthusmolen (parking garage and public square) and the outer end of Nyhavn.

Number 11 shows Østerbro and Parken stadiums but also Krudttønden made infamous by the Copenhagen terrorist attack in February.

Number 12 shows Copenhagen Towers and Royal Arena.

Number 13 does of course shows Royal Arena.

Number 14 shows the AT2 towers at Axel Torv and the Rådhuspladsen metro station under construction.

Number 15 shows the Maersk tower.

Number 16 and 17 shows Rigshospitalet, made famous be Lars Von Triers thriller Riget (The Kingdom in english).

Bohr tower is only missing 2 floors, a shame it isn´t taller but a larger tower is planned next door.


A total of 7 towers is planned in Carlsberg Byen, they are between 50 and 120 meters tall.
Bohr is 100 meters tall.

Already 3 huge sport events are announced.

European Short Course Swimming Championships in 2017. (30.000 people are expected for the 5 days)

The 2019 World Championship in handball.

The 2018 IIHF World Championsship in icehockey.

New renders of the Copenhagen International school in the North Harbour.

The building is 25.000 sqm and will host 1200 students that are between 3 and 19 years old.

The highest tower at Axel Towers is still missing a floor but the facade is progressing well on the smaller towers.


The Tombac cladding will get darker as the time goes by but I like the colorful state of it and it plays well with the next door Tivoli gardens.

Science City North is ever progressing, I have show pictures of the Maersk Tower earlier in this thread.

This picture shows the Niels Bohr building (not to be confused with the Bohr tower in Carlsberg Byen)
