A new project in Ørestad Syd.

A project with a large ans small supermarket on the ground floor, Dino Legeland (indoor playground) and finally a Pelican Self storage.

And then there will be 120 apartments on the top floors (5 to 9)

A huge update on Ørestad City and Ørestad Syd.

Let's start with Bella Quarter from my balcony, which gives a nice overview. It looks like they're working in sets of three; there's 3 rows already topped out, 3 rows getting their floors and then 3 rows with a concrete foundation. Alongside they're building the first apartment building.

Doesn't look like they've touched the building that got on fire in any way yet.

The 4D area is ready to be built very soon, with Skanska building Ø-huset there. They've removed most of the big rocks surrounding the premise, so I expect them to start actual construction this coming week or next.

The "Lethal" site is moving along very, very slowly. Not sure if anything is actually happening at the moment, but it looks like it's ready to do the foundation. It's been hit by a number of setbacks, but afaik, it should be ready to get going now.

The current parking lot by Bella Center metrostation will close in less than a week to make way for the new office project by Skanska, where the initial phase will mainly house Sweco. I've heard conflicting reports on when construction should start - heard both now in April and in October - so I guess April to October will be site prepping?

The area between the new Fields extension and the highway is still a mess - but I think it's with good reason. Explanation coming later...

A new café opened recently in Copenhagen Towers - Orango Coffee - which is well worth a visit if you're ever in the area. Also provides a good opportunity to check out the beautiful atrium

Moving into Ørestad Syd - the real warzone - progress continues on the Arena with its final wooden cladding. Lille Arena is also starting to receive cladding, while the towers in the arena have now topped out.

The large mystery project next to the recently finished white building (not sure what it's named) is continuing to progress at a fast pace. The rear end of the building will connect to the recently announced multi-purpose building with two supermarkets, so the location is quite nice.

Foundation almost ready to be poured for the "infill" next to the parking structure across 8-tallet:

The view at the end of Ørestad Syd is still a beautiful sight to behold:

The south-west-most corner has been completely cleared in preparation for something - but what? Surely it can't be a new temporary parking lot, as this must be a very attractive placement for apartments - anyone know what's going on?

The 1-2-3 apartment complex is also progressing fast, now at 3-4 floors in some places:

Staging area (?) behind the row houses and Balder buildings:

Road missing... for now! The recently constructed parking lot is missing a road connection, so I'm guessing this road will soon be built to connect to it.

Looking towards the Arena and the quarter surrounding it:

Getting closer...

Looking toward fælledhusene - they're hard to get close to on bike

Backside of the mystery building:

New buildings continue to rise from the ground in the Byhusene area - this was not here when I last visited a few weeks ago:

At the currently only inhabited area of Arenakvarteret - must be a bit weird to live smack in the middle of a huge construction zone. The materials look really good though.

Lille Arena up close:

The "fake" canal and other water infrastructure towards the end of the area looks about done:

Basement done for KUBEhusene:

They've been digging fairly far down for the social care apartment complex:

It's hard to see, but they've been building a cyclist and pedestrian bridge connecting City and Syd, and it looks like more pathways are being done by the City-end of the bridge:

And here it is from the City-side, close the entrance of Fields:

Now to my theory on why the area next to Field's Cinema extension is so messy... it's going to become a pedestrian and cyclist pathway to the new bridge - looks plausible, no?

Speaking of Fields, the Food Lounge in the top floor is getting some new, attractive indoor cladding:

Also, I don't know if this has been discussed before, but have you noticed how the west-side of the recent expansion doesn't have the usual cladding? I'm not saying it's about to happen, but this has to be due to another planned west-bound expansion, right?

The Cabinn expansion is progressing at a fairly slow pace, IMO, despite two cranes on-site. Then again, it's covering a fairly large area. At least they're reaching ground level now:

The KLP3 site. Nothing will happen here for the next year or so, but let's hope they stick to the construction plans this time around!

Also thought it worthwhile to document the recently built park between Porthuset and Winghouse. It's not super impressive yet - and has quite a bit of construction trash lying around - but I'm hoping that the soon-to-bloom trees will help prettify it.

And finally, a Panorama of warzone Ørestad:

OT, note the Nordea side and bicycles at left.
Clearly that the Cirkelbroen has created more traffic on this stretch since its opening.

From this vantage point, the building fits perfectly to the harbor front imo.

Seen from Vester Voldgade and the Ryssensten Gymnasium.

Expansion of the street and the buildings line.

A little closer, one can't deny it is a brutal construction that almost eat up the old yellow long house.

The Frihedsstøtten from 1792!
It must have been on the countryside when it was raised.

When passengers swarming out from the Central Station the first sight to view are the
AT2 and the ongoing Tivolikanten project.
There could have been a 6th tower of 100 - 120 meters without any problem..

I absoluetly like the Axel towers before the patina. There are too few beautiful copper color buildings. There is a reason kids love new American pennies so much. It will look quite bland after the copper weathers to its usual pale color, and I hope it won't turn Staue of Liberty green!

The LM project refuses to die.

They want to remove the iconic bridge from the project and build a bridge next to the buildings.

Apparently public access to an office tower is not a good idea.

http://www.kk.dk/sites/default/files...17659156-5.PDF

...............and with the proposed bridge to be built, in order to have the high bridge as private connection between the two towers. Much more useful IMO.

And the design has changed as well, here is the old design.
