Curious about the name. Wouldn't a modernist design be more suitable?

From the marketing website:
"The Chicago School of Architecture was created by world renowned architects active in Chicago at the turn of the 20th century. Through the brilliant minds of such celebrated architects as Louis Sullivan and Frank Lloyd Wright, the Chicago School became credited for the design of our modern skyscrapers. It was also among the first to promote the new technologies of this age which included distinctive facades adorned with horizontal and vertical lines and simple geometric shapes. Inspired by an era when architectural detail and design reigned supreme, The Daniels Corporation has created their newest landmark tower CHICAGO. True to the Chicago School, this exciting new residence will be designed with three distinct architectural components similar to a classical column. The first floors represent the base of the column, the middle floors form the shaft of the column and the top of the tower is its crown, with a highly detailed and decorative cornice. Distinct in design and stunning in its style, CHICAGO is destined to stand proud as an architectural triumph on the Mississauga skyline."

The render would suggest that quite the opposite is being planned.

this looks a post-modern or neo-modern design. I like it.

The building is not that bad but the price.... is that a bad area or something? Or is it just a Studio-apartment building?

The prices range from 190k (studio) to over 500K (townhouses). There are other condos and urban townhouses approaching $1 million, not bad for a "suburb".

The area is being built up...Chicago Condos is being built next to Parkside Village (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=755480) which is situated in the forefront of the 1st picture.

Chicago

Chicago and Ultra from left to right; Absolute World will be viewable, in a couple of months, in the distance behind Chicago.

I have to agree about the name... nothing about this design suggests Louis Sullivan to me, or Frank Lloyd Wright.

That said, it's not the worst I've ever seen, and I'm sure it's quite functional in its own way.

It looks ok to me, but to dominate the skyline it needs to be much taller.

quite interesting cluster there ... looks a bit like the towers in the park concept from the 50s ...

quite strange architectural designs too (including the chicago condo) ... this building in the pic below is just grotesque. can't rememeber when I saw an awefull base like this before
