Nice updates Jasonzed. You seem to have a good handle on the pulse of Sauga. Do you see Mississauga building condos as tall as downtown Toronto any time soon. I realize land is cheaper there, but I thought demand would be sufficient that we'd see a couple over 60 floors by now.

Well, it is certainly possible that a condo 60+ floors will be build in the near future. In the next 10 years or so there are over 40+ condo towers slated to be built in and around MCC couple of which will be 50+ and who knows the developers may bump up the floor count to 60+ depending on demand. Using the Absolute towers (4/5) as an example, I think it's certainly possible; those towers virtually sold-out in a relatively short time.

From March 26/2010: If a 60+ tower is to be built it would either on the north (parking lot) or south side (replace gas station and Novotel)

I would love to see something like this running from Burnhamthorpe to Robert Speck along Hurontario and maybe with a 30+ office tower to anchor Hurontario and Robert Speck. Aura would be OK as well.

Some glitz and sophistication is certainly needed in Mississauga. Some of this would do wonders for this strip:

That may just look pretty good across the street from Absolute. In any case, what ever gets built across the street from Absolute, the architects/designers/builders better bring their "A" game because anything less then than what was brought forward by Absolute will be somewhat disappointing.

Parkside phase 1 is in the background

They are moving quickly on building the infrastructure...

Zonta Meadows park will lead into Parkside Village park then into MCC Common park then past the Living Arts Centre then into the new Main District and SQ1...going to be very nice

This is a bit off line...

Are there any plans to upgrade this green space into a great city park or will it remain just a grassy area for the time being? For me Central Park is the best city park in the world. It's big, grand, and lined on all sides by skyscrapers. This park shouldn't aspire to anything less.

Downtown Toronto doesn't have anything like that, but Mississauga still can. Have a design competition and invite the world's best park designers to submit bids. Right now it just looks like a big lawn with tiny trees on it.

I'm not sure if the city is going to leave it as is or harmonize it with Parkside but my guess there will be a few adjustments. Below is from a presentation I went from early last year. It probably has to be updated to include the Sheridan college park...

Edit: Actually, looking at the presentation again, there will be significant changes to the existing park and to the play area for kids.
