Dank voor het posten! Ik ben vroeger ook regelmatig in zo'n soort speelpaleis in Eindhoven geweest, en vroeg me steeds af waar dat nou precies geweest is. De kans is groot dat dat dus deze locatie was. Al kan ik me nauwelijks voorstellen dat dat in een kerk was. Maar goed, daar lette je als kind natuurlijk niet op, dus het zal wel kloppen. Gesloopt? Tjonge jonge!

Rouen heeft sinds mijn jeugd erg veel indruk op me gemaakt! De torenspits is 151 meter hoog en bestaat uit staal.

WAAAATTTT, das heftig die kathedraal van Rouen... zeker een bezoekje waard... op wikipedia staat dat de vieringstoren van gietijzer is met 4 koperen torentjes

@Effes: Ja, ik vond 't altijd behoorlijk indrukwekkend. Raar dat er geen foto's van te vinden zijn, vijftien jaar geleden bestonden er toch ook al fotografen?

@Sinds1980: Gesloopt ja, eeuwige zonde. Ik wil denk ik niet eens weten wat er voor terug is gekomen...

Ik heb het even nagevraagd bij mijn moeder, ik ging dus ook weleens naar dit speelpaleis. Ik vond het echt superheftig. Beneden spelen met trapauto's etc. En boven timmeren knutselen enzo. Naar mijn idee was het ook immens groot..

Knutselen kan ik me ook nog wel herinneren ja. We hebben er ook menig verjaardagsfeestje gevierd volgens mij. Jammer dat je er als kind nauwelijks bij stilstaat. Nu is iedere herinnering eraan goud waard. Maar ja, die herinneringen zijn schaars en meer komen er waarschijnlijk niet meer boven...

Over 20 jaar heb jij waarschijnlijk ook maar schaarse herinneringen aan deze tijd... ofniet?

Of heeft het met leeftijd te maken, als je jong bent onthoud je minder???

Voor mijn 8e wel, voor mijn 4e zijn het echter wat flarden die meer dan waarschijnlijk ook nog eens hevig gekleurd zijn door latere gebeurtenissen.

Die kathedraal van Rouen vind ik eerlijk gezegd best lelijk. Wat een samengeraapt zooitje.

Dat was ook mijn eerste gedachte, ja. En staal? Dat kenden ze toch nog niet in de Middeleeuwen?

Maar voor dit gebouw geldt: het is bijna weer mooi van lelijkheid...

Een allegaartje van stijlen is het wel. Zo'n ding bouw je niet in een week. De dom van Keulen is dan een voorbeeld waarbij een ontwerp lang is vastgehouden, hoewel deze niet zo heel oud is.
Maar om hem nou meteen maar lelijk te noemen lijkt me wel kort door de bocht. Ik vind hem zelf wel een zekere schoonheid hebben met die verticailteit en juist die asymmetrie. Zelf vind ik de facade en de vieringtoren toch erg indrukwekkend te noemen. Nergens in Nederland zie ik iets wat vergelijkbaar is!


Hier is toch wel mijn fascinatie voor kathedralen ontstaan als kind.

I have follow this forum regularly to see the different beautiful cathedrals you have in your country and I've seen that you also upload cathedrals from other countries so I thought somebody could be interested to see some beautiful cathedrals in Zaragoza -Spain- I don't know if it's well-kown in your country but it's one of the biggests in Spain. -Sorry I don't speak Dutch... I hope you like the pictures.

Welcome Dropy! It's nice to hear you like the dutch and belgium churches.

The Seo looks impressive! It's got some Moorish infuences.... I like it alot..

Look at the bóvedas/vaults/gewelven on picture 2!!

I'm glad you like them, thank you for the posts. The cathedral has a morish influence, this style with tiny hornaments with moors influence and (sometimes with tiny ceramic parts) is called aragonese mudejar and you can see it in different churches, cathedrals and buildings in my region (Aragón). The mudejar is considered Unesco world heritage style.

When someone think about Zaragoza the first image that comes to mind is The Pilar basilic because it's quite impresive from near, and the Ebro river bank is closer so it's quite popular, this building is consider barroque style.
But the Seo cathedral is really beautiful. Now you know a little bit more from here Thank you for your comments and sorry... but I can not speak Dutch I hope most of you can understand it....

Don't worry Dropy, the vast majority (close to 80% I would guess) of the Dutch and Belgium population (the Dutch or Flemish speaking ones at least) speak English and can read and write the English language. Maybe not perfect, but well enough to understand what you wrote! And besides, my Spanish must be evenly worse as you speak Dutch .

mmm I don't think so... I'm sure you can guess some Spanish words more than me Dutch.. although I have seen some words which are a little bit similar to German and I can speak a little bit ...but I think you can understand better my English. A pleasure to take part in this Dutch forum.
