In total 60 images in this thread are copyrighted by me.

Kaitak747 did not ask for my permission to use the images.
I did not give Kaitak747 the permission to use the images.
So this is IMHO plain image theft.

Other flickr members whose images are posted here are also not particularly happy.

The images are all marked "Copyright All Rights Reserved" on my (and others) respective flickr pages:

Not only does Kaitak747 steal images from flickr users, he also violates the flickr TOS by not back linking to the respective original flickr images pages.

I see source descriptions for almost all the photos posted in here, usually posted at the end of the post, and the photos have been directly linked from flickr and not on an external website to make it seem like it's not the author's original work (unless it's copied, uploaded to another person's ID in flickr, which I don't think is too likely). Users should be able to see the photo from its original link.

That being said, I believe the photos posted here qualify as fair use, and is not a willing or deliberate attempt to profit or take ownership of other people's work. I remind everyone to clearly source where they get their material. We see a lot of great photos here. Let's enjoy them all with the proper credit. I'm sure people, including myself, are interested in seeing more from the source.

People should chill out about these copyrighted stuff. I would be so happy if someone used my images, if it wasn't good they wouldn't of used it. Besides whats the fuss? Its not like they are profiting from it more like sharing.

I totally agree with you, the front line reporters have been extremely professional under the typhoon, but on the other hand, the management of TVB shows their great fear of "North Wind".

Are you allowed to walk down the street with an open beer in Hong Kong?

As far as I know, walking down the street with an open beer is not prohibited in HK. By the way, we frequently get attacked by typhoon during the Summer, the scene what you saw in the news clip is definitely not the wrost. As EricIsHim said, to advertise typhoon wind surfing as a tourist attraction can be considered.

Tai Long Bay and Shek O are the most popular places for surfing during typhoon. Of cuz, some people do kill themselves from drowning in the storm.

As long as you are over 18 years old, it's legal to drink any alcohol drinks (including beer) on the open street any time during the day on any day of the year. There is no prohibition. Well, if you get drunk and break the law, you will still be prosecuted even though you are drunk.
