It's a very nice place with great hospitable people and architecture.

*******womens in Iran are required by the government to wear head scarves and an overcoat, which really sucks and if you are a female visitor going to Iran you need to cover your hair with a scarf. But it's not as bad as it seems and in some ways it can be stylish.

******Tehran is more modern than historic. Iran is filled with amazing historic attractions but they are mostly in other cities, such as Shiraz & Isfahan. You may visit the Iran forum http://www.skyscrapercity.com/forumd...s=&forumid=597 to see some of those sights.

The Azadi Tower (Persian: برج آزادی, Borj-e Azadi meaning in English: Freedom Tower) (previously known as the Shahyād Āryāmehr Persian: شهیاد آریامهر, English: King Memorial Tower) is the symbol of Tehran, Iran, and marks the entrance to the city.

Built in 1971 in commemoration of the 2,500th anniversary of the Persian Empire, this "Gateway into Iran" was named the Shahyad Tower (meaning "Remembrance of the Shahs (Kings)") but dubbed Azadi (Freedom) after the Iranian Revolution of 1979. It is the symbol of the country's revival, and intended to remind coming generations of the achievements of modern Iran under the Pahlavi Dynasty. It is 50 metres (148 feet) tall and is completely clad in cut marble.

The architect, Hossein Amanat, won a competition to design the monument. Ironically, he practices a religion — the Bahá'í Faith — that is persecuted by the current government. Azadi Tower combines Sassanid and Islamic architecture styles. Amanat also integrated a degree of Baha'i symbology in the design, such as having exactly nine stripes on each side, and exactly nine windows either of the long sides of the building. It is part of the Azadi cultural complex, located in Tehran's Azadi square in an area of some 50,000 m². There is a museum and several fountains underneath the tower.

sureI didn't say I hate belgium I just don't like it much (not beceause of the country beceause its a nice country) but beceause I don't feel me home here and in Iran I can do so much more things but wathever I don't choose to live here my parents lived in belgium I just born here but if I had the chance and good work in Iran I would go

yes, Iran was called before 1935 Persia but when the Pahlavi Monarchie came on power they changed the name in Iran (the land of the aryans) so some people use Persia or Iran but internationnaly it's Iran now

yes but I just mean belgium is a little country Iran is much bigger,, there are much more oppertunity's in terms of work but in belgium you have the freedom in almost all fields

Isfahan is also known as Florence of the middle east, but I think Isfahan's bridges are more beautiful and impressive than the one in Florence.
