Ambleside The Lake District England

A few photos from my daytrip to the lovely little town of Ambleside. They're not very good and don't do the place justice but i hope to get my new canon eos 1000 soon can't wait.

Started the day of with a good healthy breakfast
Then on to the town , most of the buildings are built with local cumbrian slate.

Lake Windermere

Interesting architecture, never seen all of these slate buildings before. Is this a resort town? Reminds me of Lake Placid, NY, USA a little.

I always loved my time in the Lake District. Definitely one of my favourite parts of rural England. Great work!

Can't wait to go to Britain, hopefully in the near future (a year or so) I'll be up there

Yes Ambleside is very touristy . It can get very busy in the summer,it's best visited off season.

Awesome pictures.
That Full English made me homesick--nothing like a good brekers as a prelude to a walk in the country.
I did notice though that there was an impostor on the plate, viz the hash brown. Much as I love hash brown, it is surely a foreign surrogate for bubble and squeak and/or fried bread.

I wanted to see if they are called that in England. I know what they are called in BC from living in Victoria....
