Wow, I haven't seen something this cutting age in a long time, however, I am not completely fond of the location. Still I give it one thumb up!

The extension looks tacky on top of the existing building. They should redesign this extension. And if the Metropolitan Life North Building were built in its planned height, any addition to the 1 Madison Avenue Building would match well with that unbuilt tower.

are there any chances that they will build something on top of the Metropolitan Life North Building base? i mean they have 30 elevators for about 30 floors and the structure was built for a 400+ skyscraper. kinda stupid to let it unfinished.

Fantastic, I hope this goes ahead, but it's a bit too close to the ?Woolworth? Building ...

Its not near the Woolworth. The white building is Metropolitan Life.

Metropolitan Life North
Here is an image of the 1929 proposal for the MetLife North extension, at 100 stories and 1312' (400m).

That still holds great potential for the future as it's built to support 100 floors.

Amazing tower, what else can i say

It needs to transition off the roof of the existing building better, but I like the design for the most part. Hopefully if this project is going ahead, the "redesign" will do just that.

+1 for Mr. Libeskind.

Agreed. This would work much better as its own tower. Still really cool design though!!

^ there shouldn't be a ground breaking since it's being built on top of a much older building.
