Hong Kong 2008 Photo Series #18 - Grit & Sunset

Continuing with the grit, a bit further away from Sham Shui Po lie some new and expensive developments.

This new park has become a hot community gathering spot. Hard to believe a decade ago this was water's edge.

ICC peeks in the background.

Here is an example of what an older housing estate looks like.

This project is called The Sparkle, with its extraordinary prices even though it is next to a run-down vegetable wholesale market.

One of the high-tech features in this development is the ability to control the home's electrical appliances through a website. You can turn on the stove remotely and start boiling your soup when you leave the office. Perhaps one day the whole building will burn down because some hacker got in to turn everyone's stove on at the same time.

We've had a lot of clear days lately, which makes some beautiful sunsets. Time to head back to the waterfront for some skyline shots.

Hong Kong has a bunch of very tall building that are not very well-known. I hope I can visit the city soon.

Wichtige ─nderungen beginnen immer mit ganz neuen Perspektiven.
