#PROJECT: Hydra Village
OK a new thread for Hydra Village.
Can all who post on here please adhere to the forum rules and not divert to other matters. Hydra gives ownership contracts posted on 02/11/2008 UAE-based international property developer Hydra Properties has commenced handing over ownership contracts of its project Hydra Village Abu Dhabi – an eco-living retreat – to investors. The ownership contracts are for the already sold-out 2,500 villas of Hydra Village. The eco-living project is expected to be complete for handover to end-customers in 2010. "Hydra Village is designed with a clear focus on conservation. The project is being developed in Al Reef City at the gateway of Abu Dhabi. It is designed in order to provide residents smart technology, facilities and amenities associated with modern living, while ensuring eco-living at its best," said a company statement. "We, at Hydra Properties, are determined to keep our promises. We are now in the process of handing over all ownership contracts to our investors. I have utmost pride in the fact the project is progressing well and is on schedule. We value the process as much as the final product," Sulaiman Al Fahim, Chief Executive Officer of Hydra Properties, said. At Hydra Village, disposable items will be recycled and water conserved. Latest technology will be used to enhance reduction of energy consumption. Residents will be able to recycle items such as paper, cardboard, cans, glass as well as plastic. Within the village, residents can avail of free transportation. The step is in order to reduce vehicular emissions. There will also be non-smoking areas and most facilities will have non-smoking floors. The constellation of town houses, luxurious apartments and modern commercial offices at Hydra Village will be surrounded by a green aura of recreational parks and open space. Mosques, a hospital, a five-star hotel and an impressive utilities infrastructure are also part of the project. – Emirates Business http://www.the-emirates.com/docs/Hyd...s___/32714.htm Last edited by bizzybonita; January 24th, 2011 at 01:21 AM. |

And can you please include on the first post descriptions of the project, a render, a press release. Also the thread discussion should be ONLY about the construction (or lack of it). Any post related to the real-estate aspect of the project is not allowed and will be deleted. The repeted offenders will be brigged or banned from this forum. Real estate aspect include any discussion about the prices and selling or buying. Offering unit to sell/buy equals to automatic ban.

Nice, this is actually I project that I´m looking forward to, be it delayed a year or two doesn´t matter as I intend to use it as a vacation home when I´m retired.
The charm is that it will look arabic, I don´t want a place that could as well be in Florida, Singapore or Hong Kong...

Lets Go!!!!!
All I have ever posted here has been the down turn values as advertised and the irrisponsible way in which this developer has gone about handling matters. There should always be a forum like this in order for people to quite rightly vent.
So the market is changingm eventually when the dust settles we will have intended owner occupiers moving forward and will be enjoying a more steady maturity. I still say closing my eyes to values at the moment that we all have a stunning buy, even me after paying a hefty premium before the troubles. I just want to see more communication with Hydra and less smoke screens, I want to see a set in stone start finish date, I want to see construction starting and proof of that. As I said before int rates are up a point of the base rate so now I am 7.75% interest on stage payments with my mortgage! OK no prob ride the wave Iunderstand that but I am a little more than fed up that this has not started yet, so why am I paying them!! This is a genuine concern and as a buyer I have every right to ask the questions, just as everyone else is. So Hydra! please start to communicate with your clients, we are not an after thought, we are not an annoyance and we are not to be disrespected like this I would ask the owners here! would you like to be treated this way! as no one from what I hear would dare treat you this way, so why do it to us|! Come on! A/D has a very bright future! I know its tough! but please, improve things! The only thing I see at the moment are adverts for Hydra open air cinema!! Lets start the new year with a bang Hydra! COME ON! YOU CAN DO IT!!

Bimcnorth: Those pics look great.....they dont look quite as tidy on the hydra site.
I wonder have they changed the actual outside design along with the new masterplan and size increase or are they keeping the old design ? |

At this forum there have been some discontent about one of their projects "Hydra Village Al Reem" as the whole project have been delayed and just started moving sand around. But they are involved in a lot of projects in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuwait, Libya and Sharjah apart from Mexico and is expected to continue to grow at a fast rate. They generally are regarded as devoted to innovative and "green" designs in most of their projects who span from skyscrapers in Dubai to Golf resorts in Abu Dhabi. |

actually, Hydra Village was their first project ever, and that's due for completion in end of 2010.
Far as I know, all their other projects are due earliest around that period (both in Dubai and Abu Dhabi). Please correct me if I'm wrong. Has anyone managed to keep track of construction progress on this project? Is there a project manager we can get in touch with to confirm what the sales team are telling us? |

Each ZONE! Has its own contractor now which will mean concentration of resources for each one which should mean a 2010 end completion. As for continuity ref finishing build quality!!! Who knows as this is now split between diff contractors. I got this from a good friend involved in the UAE construction scene. |

Indeed, Unbelievable but true, they start Hydra Village Sharjah, and Hydra Village Abu Dhabi is not even from the ground......
Hydra Village Sharjah aimed towards housing 50,000 residents Tuesday, December 16, 2008 Hydra Village Sharjah The leading UAE-based property developer, Hydra Properties, announced plans to develop a new mixed-use project in Sharjah to accommodate a population of 50,000. The 'Hydra Village Sharjah' will be a landmark development in Sharjah, which will be unveiled during the Acres Middle East Exhibition, due to be held between the 15th and 18th December 2008 at the Expo Center Sharjah, said the CEO of Hydra, Dr. Sulaiman al Fahim. The project is said to offer 66 percent residential, 14 percent official, and 10.5 percent retail and 9.5 percent hospitality space. The new Hydra Village Sharjah would be a true blend of modern Arab architecture and sophisticated all-glass elegance. The mixed-use project will comprise a suburban oasis of harmonious family-oriented communities and contrast motifs. With a total of 1068 townhouses and 3618 apartments spread across eight clusters, customers are provided with the option of choosing between luxurious town houses, modern single, double and triple bedroom apartments, and wonderful terrace apartments. A luxurious hotel and state-of-the-art offices too, would form a part of the project, offering the much required convenience to the relaxed community. The self-contained village will also include several retail establishments like restaurants, shops, cafes, supermarkets, dining delights, schools, club houses, and Mosques. The project is located 15kms away from the Sharjah International Airport and 30kms from the center of the city. Being so located, Hydra Village Sharjah will offer dreamlike calmness and relaxation to residents who seek to move away from stressful lifestyles associated with fast-paced city life. According to Dr. Al Fahim, Acres Middle East is sure to draw the attention of both individual and institutional investors and high net-worth personalities with its unique value propositions and leading architectural design. Established in 2006, Hydra Properties is a private establishment aimed to offer UAE, the Middle East and the entire world with development concepts that are truly reflected in the various landmark projects of the company. |

think they're erecting a giant effergy (sp) of Dr Al Fahim...something not disimmilar to the Stay Puft marshmallow man in Ghostbusters that can be seen up close by incoming flights to AUH. His eyes will be aircraft warning lights!
