Flares! thankyou I laughed till it hurt with your reply ref marshmallow man! lol big up!!!
Ref Hydra as per my update I was told by the consultant, which Speculator kindly posted up, that each zone will have its own contractor! I am afraid that he also told me that all foundations have been laid for the entire unit plan, I am expecting that when I next talk to him he will be to busy as he will be having lunch with Elvis Presley and the Queen. I was also down in A/D on business and all I saw was a huge red scaffold with H.Y.D.R.A on it, was their an open air dazzling cinema experience behind it! perhaps all the workers, all 3 of them are sat watching a film! Now as you have noted they launch Hydra Sharjah!, all I know is that I am paying interest on my repayments/mortgage and its just gone up which now means an extra 5000 to find everymonth! for what, SAND!!! I need to get a site visit organised under the auspice of supplier interest then I can sneak in my old eastern block camera from my spy days hidden in my rear end and take some pictures. So be prepared for some glossy's featuring the three workers picking their nose and playing 'sand games'....lol! |

It is hard to get real data on progress (which I agree should be the focus for this forum), but what I heard is that management is getting changed, and that they will improve their relationship with the investors. Based on what locals say, this project will continue. Before you ask, I would love to quote the source, but this is not possible. Like others, I will drive up to AD quite soon, and will try to take some pictures. Problem: not easy to get on Hydra site, I already tried twice.

50% of the project is putting in ground work, ie sewage, drainage etc that isnt easily visible (not saying i have seen it or they have done it). The house should go up fairly fast as they are pre fab. Given how cheap it is compared to anything else in the UAE and given the fundamentals regarding Abu Dhabi it could turn out to be a good investment. 120k -160k a year rent for a 2 bed? 5-7 years to pay it off? Not to mention capital gains. . .
The sooner they build it the better, lets hope we see some positive progress soon. |

progress
I saw every dune today at 4pm no sign of the 3 stooges.
No sign of anyboby for that mater. It seemed that they stopped again! There has been some work done since my last pic in oct 22, however I have no explanation for what I saw today. If you zoom in you will notice some concrete slabs laid on some sections.

pailleenque thanks for the pictures. The last one is very good. Seems some progress has occurred since your last pictures.
Would you happen to know what date or how old your satellite picture is ? To be honest they dont seem like simple dunes they must be concreted in foundations. I have been informed by Hydra and others ( cant vouch for reliability ) that they are looking at completing four hundred villas by first four months next year. 25 Villas a week..... We shall see ! Anyone else got similar feedback ? |

Yes...Its is clear its not a satellite picture. Above was the link you kindly posted for the satellite pic. It is clear that some work has been done since your last pics. Not sure really what to make of the progress but its nice to see some progress at least. Last edited by speculator; December 24th, 2008 at 02:29 PM. |

I,sick and tired of this! What kind of message is this sending!? In Dubai there are folks I know who have invested in buildings over a year ago and now they find out that after many payments the developer has not even registered the land!
This is no way to treat people and this I can assure you will 'get out there'. Why are we sat grasping at straws! looking at pictures that SHOW STILL VERY LITTLE PROGRESS! I've had enough! this is my hard earned money, I'm going to Hydra A/D and I am going to get answers, I wont leave till I do! They ARE Dunes!!! Zoom in on this pic, very little slabs are down, so the guy at Hydra told me a load of crap again! DO THEY HAVE NO SHAME!!!!! |

Dunes was the wrong word, look closely you will see that the sand has just been bulldozed into some kind of starter for six road trench, no concrete from what I can see.
Also the info coming out of 270 villas by end 2009! what the heck is that! Also constant misinformation from them concerning progress I just want them to get thi sproject moving so as to attract 'the interest' that we all need in order to recover the values and drive them into some kind of positive equity! We all want this as do I then I can get rid of it! and invest offshore!, Borneo maybe! |

OK I have the commercial Directors mobile number. I have dialed dozens of times but he doesn't pick up......i suspect because my number shows as an international number and he must thinks its the press.
He may answer the phone if its a UAE number. So I will PM the number to Matt so he can give him a good brushing down and hopefully a useful update. |

Even if they built the greatest development ever, your non stop daily ranting would make it worthless till the day of completion.
------------------------------------------ I think you need to have a good look at that statement again! you give me FAR too much credit! Because I have seen countless sites through to completion I am able to look at an ariel picture like the ones posted and summarise along with others including friends who are senior Project Directors that progress is NOT being made as quickly as it should. As I clearly stated before..... '' just want them to get this project moving so as to attract 'the interest' that we all need in order to recover the values and drive them into some kind of positive equity!' ........... I do not see how my statement is a rant, it is a statement born out of frustration at being continually told fairy stories. Come the new year hopefully they will actually start to mobilise and pick up some speed however I do not thinnk that ''4 months'' is going to be enough time for me to even sell at break even! If you do not want to see honest and at times frustrated buyers voicing concerns then please Look away! |

Do you not find it worrying that many have to resort to sites like this in order to get information? Which brings me onto the subject of communication, if Hydra communicated more then people would not be left to draw their own conclusions which is unhealthy to say the least and which is always the catalyst for destructive property value damaging rumours. I do not mind discussing and sharing information with folks here but please in future keep it civil ok! Genuine concerns for hard earned money invested do not equate to rants! |

Hi guys,
I'd just like to point out that the moderator will probably shut the thread down again if we go down this route. It's mainly a forum for construction updates, with only a little leeway to discuss investment and such (long as it's perfectly civil). Let's just stick with suggestions on determining the best way to get reliable construction updates. |

This is primarily an action group of sorts, as it involves at the heart of it, money so things may get a little heated, however I agree that concerted efforts for 'accurate and honest' updates need to be found. As I pointed out in one of my previous posts I will try and get on site under the guise of a supplier and get everyone some site pictures ok! |

google: investors against law 13
you will find the action group you want. If you start an action group here they do close the thread. I dont share all your views and while i understand your frustration going on about it evey day seems prety pointless, clearly there behind shedule but i dont think they are going to catch up by tomorrow... My other point is if you think this investment is not for you, you should sell it, wich is hard to do in this enviroment and even harder if you are berating them eveyday - harder for other people to, who need/want to exit. Bottom line, your shooting yourself in the foot. |
