SEATTLE | Emerald City Tower | ~88 fl | Pro

I just learned that Donald Trump has a proposed supertall tower in downtown Seattle. The exact height is unknown yet but mostly like to be a supertall since it will be 82 stories. Donald Trump's Seattle tower will be called Emerald City Tower.

Here is more information of Emerald City Tower:

Nice, that's def Trump's nicest to date (outside of the Dubai stuff).

Not sure about the skybridge though.

Hey MOD, please change the thread, I just learned it will be 82 floors instead 88 floors. Thanks!

It looks promising, but it's hard to say in the current economic state if it'll be built soon. I'd like to see it rise, but I'm curious as to where in downtown it'll go?

They didn't say the specific site yet. They are in process to buy a site in downtown Seattle. Some Seattleite SSC members here suspects that might be built near Fairmont Olympic Hotel or Well Fargo Tower.

Maybe the Big Climb for Leukemia will take place in this building in five or so years. 82 floors isn't much more than Columbia Center's 76, I wonder what the intended height is.

Isn't there a law still in place prohibiting construction of buildings higher than Columbia?
The pic looks promising.

Seattle does have height restriction. There is unlimited height zoning in central business district right in downtown Seattle. Also any developer can build taller than 700' if they are willing to pay more for affordable housing just outside of CBD.

It's good news but... Will there be a day when Trump finally authorizes a slightly funkier design?! Ever?!

Yes I can see the comparison of this tower and Emerald City Tower. Both look somewhat similar. I am curious where this tower will be built at?

Nice design, it reminds me a lot of Eureka Tower in Melbourne.

It definitely would be a great thing if Seattle gets a new highest building, but with the current economic crisis in the US the probability that projects like this will be built seems rather unlikely IMO, and I'm sure that even Donald Trump feels the recession in some way , so I really doubt that there's any chance that construction on this tower will start soon.

I know...I wasn't saying anything against you or anything like that. That was just for the benefit of people who might not know the significance of the watermark.
