What a great set of photos...

Melbourne is a fantastic place to live, its only problem is that there are to many NIMBY groups around the inner-city trying to curb development..
Is this a problem in other cities around the world ??
I mean to say that in the 60s and 70s Melbourne went on a demolition frenzy, knocking down the cities Victorian heritage, trying to project itself to the world as a ''modern'' city..
Thankfully there was way too much for the ''wreakers ball'' to demolish, today Melbourne is still one of the best victorian cities in the world outside of the UK..
I think from this period of mass demolition grew a resistance to any development in the inner-city.., the thing here is that the inner-city escaped pretty much the ''wreakers ball'' and these NIMBY's think any development will compromise the character of the area... when realy its adding to the character as a whole...
If we could some how over come this problem, then Melbourne would become one of the coolest cities in the world...IMO...........

Ps merry--x-mass.............
