Since trivandrum would not be able to handle more trains, these trains are extended to nagercoil. Because no options left.
And city like Madurai trains can be extended to sengottah, Tuticorin, tirunelveli , tiruchendur, rameshwaram.

திருச்சி, : மார்க்சிஸ்ட் கம்யூனிஸ்ட் கட்சியின் மாவட்ட செய லாளர் ஸ்ரீதர் அறிக்கை:
திருச்சியிலிருந்து கடந்த காலத்தில் இயக்கப்பட்டு வந்த பல ரயில்கள் ஒவ்வொன்றாக வேறு ஊர்களுக்கு நீட்டிக்கப்பட்டும், ரத்து செய்யப்பட்டும் வந்த பின்னணியில் கடந்த பட்ஜெட்டில் திருச்சியிலிருந்து இயக்கப்பட்டு வந்த ஒரே பகல்நேர ரயிலாகிய பல்லவன் ரயிலும் காரைக்குடியிலிருந்து இயக்கப்படும் என அறிவித்து இருப்பது திருச்சி மக்களிடையே கடும் அதிருப்தியை உண்டாக்கி இருக்கிறது. திருச்சியிலிருந்து பல்லவன் இயக்கப்பட்டு வந்ததால் முன்பதிவு செய்வதும், முன்பதிவு அல்லாமல் டிக்கெட் பயணிப்பதும் வசதியாக இருந்தது. ஆனால் காரைக்குடியிலிருந்து பல்லவன் ரயில் இயக்கப்படும் என்ற முடிவு திருச்சி பகுதி மக்கள் பல்லவன் ரயில் மூலம் பெற்று வந்த அனைத்து வசதிவாய்ப்புகளும் பறிப்பதாக உள்ளது.
இதை எதிர்த்து கடந்த காலத்தில் மார்க்சிஸ்ட் கம்யூனிஸ்ட் கட்சி பல்லவன் ரயில் மீட்புக்குழுவுடன் இணைந்து வழுவான இயக்கங்களை நடத்தியுள்ளது. இயக்கங்களுக்கு மதிப்பளிக்காமலும், மக்களின் உணர்வுகளை புரிந்து கொள்ளாமலும் நேற்று (1ம் தேதி) முதல் பல்லவன் ரயில் காரைக்குடியில் இருந்து இயக்கப்படும் என்று அறிவித்து இருப்பது மக்களை மோதவிடும் போக்காக உள்ளது. இந்த ரயில்வே துறையின் போக்கினை மார்க்சிஸ்ட் கம்யூனிஸ்ட் கட்சி வன்மையாக கண்டிப்பதோடு, காரைக்குடி பகுதி மக்களுக்கு புதிய ரயில் ஒன்றை இயக்கிடவும், பல்லவன் பகல்நேர ரயிலை வழக்கம்போல் திருச்சியிலிருந்து இயக்கிடவும் மத்திய அரசையும், ரயில்வே நிர்வாகத்தையும் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறது. இவ்வாறு அவர் கூறியுள்ளார்.

SPECIAL TRAIN BETWEEN DIBRUGARH - VELANKANNI

he following special trains will be run to clear the extra rush of passengers during Velankanni Festival season.

Dibrugarh – Velankanni – Dibrugarh Special:T.No.05906 Dibrugarh – Velankanni Special will leave Dibrugarh at 19.20 hrs. oČn 04.09.2013, leave Chennai Egmore at 08.30 hrs. oČn 07.09.2013 and arrive Velankanni at 19.00 hrs. on 07.09.2013.

T.No.05905 Velankanni – Dibrugarh Special will leave Velankanni at 07.45 hrs. oČn 09.09.2013, arrive Chennai Egmore at 15.50 hrs. oČn 09.09.2013 and arrive Dibrugarh at 09.30 hrs. oČn 12.09.2013.

The composition of the trains will be 1 AC 2-tier, 1 AC 3-tier, 6 Sleeper Class, 6 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches.

Why the LAZY and CRAZY IR open advance reservation just one day or two day before for any special train run, then how it will full?

Here is the availability status on this Dibrugarh Velankanni special.

I would not think there is an unawareness among public. People who likes train travel / on for long festival travel are watchful enough. I was able to book to TVR from MS for this saturday in this train; lucky enough to get ticket for Vinayagar chadurthi at 11th hour

* Request has been raised to extend Egmore-Salem Express to Namakkal

Mr.Gandhiselvan should atleast know that MS-SA exp and Palani exp with present timings is not going to give convinient ONT connection to Namakkal. Even if MS-SA exp is extended it will have an arrival time of 08:30AM and dep time of 19:00hrs from Namakkal which is not going to help great for Namakkal.

There should be some basic info. that first ONT for Namakkal distance should have a dep time of 22:00 to 23:00 and arrival time of 04:30 to 05:30. He should first know to pressurize to change the timings of MAS-Palani Express which will help both Namakkal and Karur.

As you say,People are aware of it.But it is difficult to plan such a long travel for family of 3-4 members in short period.

Even if it is extended , it won't affect chennai people as Many people are not travelling to Delhi/NorthIndia from South TN or West TN everyday. This train can be used till Chennai only by South or West TN. Extending to west TN has 1 more problem . All west TN extended trains later might be extended to KL/MAQ.

So it is better to extend to RMM,Delta,KanyaKumari ,TN,TEN and Shencottah.

namakkal people should demand new train . salem express extend than selam people must affected.already salem people new day time express demand,and also salem express partially go to mettur dam.

one small question:why palanimanickam make this demand?

Arul, Something is better than nothing . If we get this till Namakal @ 8:30 , i think it is good enough.

You might know that Nellai express is reaching TEN by 9 AM which has good patronage.

You are right. Instead of new train till NMKL, it can run till KRR as KRR has no direct train except forthcoming MAS-PALANI express.

This will benefit both KRR and NMKL. It can arrive NMKL and KRR by 6:30 and 7:30 respectively
