Well, I also asked him if there were any rumors around the office of the company failing for being bought. He said he knew of none. In a company that large, those things usually leak to the employees, so I think it's a good sign that the rumor mill hasn't kicked into gear yet.

I know this isn't development news, but thought I'd share. I was in Park City, Utah last weekend. since the game wasn't on network tv,(at least not nationally) we had to watch it in a bar that had NFL Network. We went to the biggest sport's bar in town. When we got there we asked the owner if they were going to show the game. He said "come on in we need some cowboys fans." I said we were Ravens fans and he gave a WTF? look. "where the F did all of you people come from?" The bar was full of Ravens fans. It was awesome.

Emmit Smith was among the greatest Cowboys of all time at the game and was in the owner's skybox. Given his interest in developing the new Civic Center (Arena), I wonder whether he's an under-cover Ravens fan.

Let me get off topic for a bit ...

One of the Raven's cheerleaders is a die-hard squealers fan ! Now, isn't that just wrong !?!. She told my boss, who is a die-hard squealers fan as well, that she loves Pittsburgh so much that she has like 10 pairs of squealers underwear and wears them to practice.

They're probably a bit rusty and in need of some WD-40 after all of those plant closures over the years.

Which corner? Which building? North Ave is certainly one of the frontiers of urban rehab, so doing this in down times is interesting.

He would then exchange the new Waxter Center for the old one. He proposed demolishing the old Waxter Center and building a 14 story apartment building on the site and adjacent parking lot. If I remember correctly, the idea was to build many small units that would be marketed to college students and young professionals.
I recall that it was Naing, the guy who is re-doing the old Brexton and proposed the apparently-dormant giant twin towers down by city hall.

That's one of those slideshows that makes me wish I lived in Baltimore....Ooops, I do. The only one that doesn't work it the Rec Pier in Fells Point, with its trash trees growing out of the pavement. In the past I have seen several photo spreads, especially in Southern Living that featured Fells Point, photo-ed to look perfect and squeaky clean. It always seems somewhat misleading since, while I love Fells Point, squeaky clean isn't one of the adjectives that comes to mind.

I guess they forgot to leave this one out of the presentation: image hosted on flickr

I found another link on the 'Baltimore Visitors Guide' at travel.yahoo.com entitled "Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine" at the following web-site: http://travel.yahoo.com/p-travelguid...ne_baltimore-i that provides just one photo in its album: (notice Rash field in the foreground and the top of the Harbor View condominium behind the hill).

The above mentioned photo shows the site of a fort over-looking downtown that was built before the Civil War - Federal Hill vs. the following picture of the actual site of the battle of Baltimore in 1814: , that can be found at the following address next to the first picture: http://www.nps.gov/fomc/.

I'm wondering whether the person who put this presentation together has ever been to Baltimore.

More time for tailgating: Sunday's Ravens game gets 4:15 p.m. kickoff
http://baltimore.bizjournals.com/bal...l?surround=lfn
Baltimore Business Journal - by Ryan Sharrow

Baltimore Ravens fans will have three hours longer to tailgate before watching the team try to lock up a playoff berth Sunday.

The NFL has pushed back the start of Sunday’s game at M&T Bank Stadium versus the Jacksonville Jaguars to 4:15 p.m., as a late-afternoon TV broadcast for CBS.

If the Ravens win the game, the team is assured a playoff spot.

The NFL uses “flexible scheduling” in Weeks 11-17 to “ensure quality matchups in all NFL Sunday time slots in those weeks and give teams a chance to play their way onto primetime and into the late-afternoon,” according to the league.

The move marks the third time in four weeks the Ravens game has been “flexed.”

The Ravens boast a 10-5 record after defeating the Dallas Cowboys, 33-24, Saturday night.

The league has also bumped back the start Sunday for the Miami Dolphins-New York Jets game (CBS) and Cowboys-Philadelphia Eagles (Fox) to 4:15 p.m.

I was looking out at the harbor from the Vu (Legg Mason/4 Seasons Cam) this morning and noticed that the camera shot was totally gray. You literally could not make out any images at all.

I thought the camera was off-line until I saw the following picture where you are able to slightly make out the tower crane and the Legg Mason building: .

An hour earlier, skies were totally clear.

I also posted an article before post #251 concerning the Chicago 'Spire'.

SSC wouldn't allow it to be posted until it cleared the censors.

In case it doesn't get posted, here is the link: http://www.marketwatch.com/news/stor...27D97DAF227%7D.

sounds like that neighborhood is beginning to turn around for the better. just 3 years ago, i had no faith in it whatsoever. i don't know how far off this "asian community" project is, but the sooner it gets started, the better.

The address is 128 W. North Ave. It's a three story structure that I believe used to house some kind of art gallery, but now it's all boarded up.

On the one hand, it's a good investment considering how well Joe2 has done. And there are other businesses on North Ave. that are new and seem to be doing well - The Wind-Up Space and Hour Haus Studios are two that I can think of. Plus, you have long term plans to fix up North Ave. market.

On the other hand, it's North Ave.

Since when did Washington, D.C. become "the most important city in the world"?

That's a little Myopic don't you think?

Let's hope not... although we haven't been bombarded with "cute" little doggy pictures yet!!!??? That was a bad day to be a lurker on this forum. Hopefully those that will remain "nameless" will remain somewhere far far away from this forum.
