I agree. Very exciting potential, indeed.

HOLY SHIT!! That Glass is Sexy! And Im loving the increasing height in that area. It seems like the farther you move from that area, the taller the towers are because even the Four Seasons looks rather tall and they're nowhere near even done. The Four Seasons needs to rise a little faster because the concrete pump seems like it hasn't been in use for the past 3 days now.Does anybody know whats wrong THIS time?

Not to ruin the thread or anything but I just felt like saying that the residents of Washington DC would be very lucky to have a skyscraper even this tall(Legg Mason)built in their skyline. How tall is DC's tallest building NOT including the Washington Monument?

True but I wish we would have their density and architecture.

The Ritz's courtyard looks really nice. Great pics.

How nice it is that Constellation Energy will be staying put, and that Electricite de France will be moving their North American Headquarters to Baltimore. Now, all we need to do is get rid of Mayo and his wife and all will be well.

The wife was on a reality TV show called "Secret Millionaire" last night giving away money - money that was gotten by selling Baltimore's corporate base down the river.

Thanks for the news about the U of M Pharmacy building Trish.

Work has started on the old Harbor Park Movie building at Market Place and Lombard Street. The first floor is being opened up to retail. A construction fence surrounds it.

Referring to the first picture in post #24, Silo Point still looks like a pile of junk. Is it still incomplete on one side?

Thanks to all for the compliments. I love taking flicks of our growing city. BK Chulo, don't worry about 4seasons, the pump is working today and if you check out my comparison shots on the last page you will see that it has gained 2-3 floors in the past 3-4 weeks. I think we got used to watching Legg rise so fast that we expect the same from 4seasons, but you must remember that Legg's deadline is looming so they need to focus on it more. I believe that once Legg tops off the 4s will rise a little faster. I'm just glad we have 2 beauties going up at the same time in this economy. Imagine if they decided to erect one at a time.

The Legg Mason building is growing to be very massive. And the Four Seasons is going to twice the size of this? Wow, I can't imagine.

I don't have a rendering, but the windows are almost all in and the brick is starting to go up along one of the interior walls (there seems to be a courtyard in the middle that is visible from the street). I think it will fit in pretty well at that location, as it doesn't seem to take away too much from some of the surrounding historic buildings.

When you turn down Aliceana from Boston Legg Mason is really starting to stick out above all the other HE buildings. Looking good.

Not usually covered in the forum, but there are three separate projects going on in highlandtown right now. The first is a new four story building on Eastern Ave, right across from the SE Anchor Library. Not sure what it's going to be, but I would guess retail on the first floor and offices above. The outside is being bricked up.

Second, there is a on office building going on the spot of a former parking lot on Fleet not too far from the library. I think it's three stories.

Third, there is a row of new tonwhomes going up on the corner of Bank and Grundy, right next to the Walgreens.

Garage at the corner of Charles and Lombard has topped out...
They've started to put the cladding on, looks similar to LM building...can't say thats really surprising.

Mark and Nick's West End Grille in the first floor of the Zenith. Should be open by the end of the month, they've been doing employee training, etc in there. Menu looks pretty standard I guess. On the contrary of competition, I think more restaurants in that area will actually help. None of these places are really destination restaurants, but if people know there's a collection of options, there's more chance they will head over.

The fence that, a few weeks ago, was put up around the Legg building is gone. I thought that was the beginning of the renovations but I guess not.

They took down all those stone "railings" in front of the windows on each floor. The views from inside are MUCH better, and the building looks better from the outside as well.

Gotta say, I don't like the idea of a movie theater there. Downtown movieplexs seem to go to hell pretty quickly (ie: Harbor Park) attracting crime and bad elements, plus you've got the Landmark in HE already which would no doubt suffer from competition that closeby.

All that being said, I think it's a beautiful design.

Oh, that's good to hear. I drove by ( Pratt ) and didn't notice any changes so I mistakenly assumed nothing was done.
