I think it would significantly accelerate many of these projects given the pressure to show-off our attributes to the World. And just think, a Baltimore-Washington Olympics could make Baltimore shine if many of these projects are realized for such an occasion. What with a viable mass transit system; new retail, residential, and office buildings; an Olympic village, say, at Westport; all connected by Maglev to Washington, DC; and an Olympic experience accentuated by the cultural and political significance of the games also taking place in Washington, DC. The synergy of this combination could produce remarkable results for Baltimore.

Hey, a man can dream . . . but no doubt the potential is there.
Nice fantasy, but without Chinese authority and labor, would we ever be able to produce anything like last summer's extravaganza? I don't know how anybody will be able to follow that. It seems that the committees and groups that were formed to pursue the games have de-convened.

Ra Sushi for dinner tonight. Very tasty. While I was down there, I noticed that the Legg is almost as tall as the Vue. It seems like one more floor will pretty much equal the height.

Top of the parking garage where the black olive inn is slowly being built. It is a great place to see fireworks. I can remember about 5 years ago we parked there on July 4th and we were going to walk around to find a good spot to watch the show. When we got to the roof we figured that would actually be a great spot, and it's probably one of my favorites. That year we were the only ones; each year more and more people are showing up. There goes our nice little private fireworks show. The barge where they launch from is right there in the water, and the fact that you are above ground level puts the show right in your face. Some of the big ones shake the garage (and your chest), great show! I have always liked parking on the roof of a parking garage; usually a great view.

Also noticed for the first time last night some exterior lighting along the top of silo point. I think it looks nice, nothing special, but it does give the building some character. Of course I didn't get a pic, but I'm sure I eventually will.

Two cities cannot officially get the Olympic bid. The Olympics, by their rules, can only be awarded to one city. It's why Baltimore was dropped from the Baltimore-Washington Coalition and why the Florida Olympic bid was renamed the Tampa Olympic bid. Washington could still be awarded the Olympics and many of the events could be held in Baltimore.
Baltimore would likely be just as much a part of the planning as Washington, but when the bid is sent to the Olympics, it can only have one city - Washington - in its name.

Exactly. And that will re enforce that Baltimore is a DC suburb to the demographically and geographically ignorant.

Great pictures Wada!!

Harbor East/Point has gotton so nice the last 2 years. The density will hopefully will grow a liitle more in the next 5-10 years to remind you of Bethesda/Georgetown. I would like to see an "off Broadway Theater" open and a "mini department store". The Landmark was a great addition.

Outstanding pics, 30 Floors Up ! On the 6th picture, it looks like as it was all 1 piece of land , as if there was no water between the Ritz and HE.

Great shots Wada!!!!! Love the different perspective, especially the last one. It's like you're walking on water.
