A video, with the opportunity to zoom in on the tip top to show us what's up there....missed. Maybe there is more?

Floor heighth

I don't know if this has been mentioned before but 105 floors and only 1,082 feet? If you take into consideration that the first few floors which would contain the lobby and perhaps some retail shops would have higher ceilings and the normal foot or so for wiring between floors and the mechanical floors, the majority of the "livable" floor space has go to be the shortest on record, like 8 foot ceilings or less. It would be like living in the basement at grandma's old house. This building height is something that would work out to 60-70 floors in most any other skyscraper.

When it's finally completed, this is going to be nothing more than the worlds largest glass covered monument. It will look good from the outside (which is even debatable) and be nothing but empty decaying unliveable concrete boxes inside.

I'm sure the total number of floors is just like most skyscrapers...different than the actual count.

I count 95, based on a picture from page 2

Shangri-La in Toronto is 214 m and 65 floors and that's a luxury brand. Ryugyong is 54% taller. Factoring in that these extra floors won't be lobby floors, 105 floors sounds about right.

Look at the Supertall index page, see if you can find a smaller per floor height (10.3 ft/flr) anywhere, you can't. Partizan, it's North Korea, where dear leader has 9 holes in one the first time he goes golfing, if anything they would exaggerate the height.

Yeah, according to you, the whole building is made of paper and doesn't exist. Everything else is just propaganda

I think if they finish it they will intend to use it. After all North Korea is turning into a turist atraction , is such a weird country that is diferent than anything you can see in the rest of the world. No traffic jams, few cars, electricity outages and many items that make it unique.

WOW! This thing finally turned out to be pretty nice... What's the other side of it look like? Does anyone have somekind of overhead view, or even a rough sketch of the footprint?

Amazing! I love to see pictures of North Korea...such a mysterious country.

So what's inside the tower? Do the Kim Jongs live on the top floor and spend their days laughing with a white cat in their arms?

Most of the towers in the supertall section have some office component. Office floors are typically taller (4 or even 5 meters) because they have provision for false ceiling and false flooring.
The towers that make it to the supertall section that are all-residential have either a spire, a huge floor count, or both. 2.6 meters ceiling height is common even in 5 stars hotel rooms, so it's quite possible to have 3 meters floor height or even less. More floors means more rooms means more profit.
Ryugyong was originally designed as a all-hotel building so it fits the bill.

It's not really odd. Many towers have less than 10ft/fl. The Renaissance Center in Detroit has 73 floors packed into 727ft. There's a building in my city that is 396 ft tall but has 42 stories.
