I don┤t think anyone here has contributed more to show the reality of North Korea than you with these pictures! Amazing, thanks for showing the North Koreans in their true essence!

BTW, the building seems to loom over the whole city, even from a distance... At a huge cost, NK has its greatest symbol.

You are correct, I did not contemplate irony. I considered sarcasm for a moment, but that too missed the mark. A rolly eyed smiley at the end would have helped.

Here's an interesting post (from a year ago) from a visitor to NK, completely off topic.

I too wish politics could stay completely out of this thread (and site) but as far as I know, this is the only supertall on the planet with ZERO real information about the construction. The NK's obviously explained to Orascom that they too were forbidden to let any details out. It's amazing that there have been no leaks.

Smileys are futile here.

Sure we'd all like to see some glimmering pics of this glazing beauty.

An amazingly huge amount of around 1500 "western" tourists head to the country of the Sun per annum.

This should answer it all:

I bet everybody who wanted to leak something about this abomination tower is now dead. After all, that's the way of NK

You're probably right.
Just like when those 3 Italian kids where killed for taking pictures of the dear leaders portrait. Remember that incident in the 80s? I was just a tot.

THey do have cameras, internet, TV, Radio, landline phone, cellphone, PC, or any basic means of spreading information... though they are not as fancy as you've got

Unfortunately, the internet is restricted to domestic access only. It means there is no international gateway out from North Korea. I believe you can't even make any call outside North Korea as well, even phone call is restricted per-City basis. So, you can't really call the other guy in different city inside North Korea.

But for the basic technology, they do have it.

Contrary to what many believe, they have theme park, sport stadium, and even ZOO. Don't you know that North Korea did make it through FIFA World Cup 2010 in SOuth Africa? They do participate in international sport events (where they can pass qualification, of course).

Sure, there is poverty and any minuses... But, still that kind of technology does exist.

Oh yeah, this is how camera looks like in North Korea

I don't remember it since I was born in October 89, but it doesn't surprise me.

As to them having internet, that might be true, but only for the crushing minority of high ranking officials. The normal people don't even have food. And if they complain about it they just get killed. After all, Pyongyang is the city of NK's elite, a.k.a. of the few chosen ones that got lucky and got to be liked by their dear Kim.

I would strongly recommend those people who like this building to stay away from NK. Psychopats don't need a reason to kill, they kill whenever they feel like killing. It's incredibly dangerous to enter that country

Kanto, judging from your posts, you are a brainwhased, uninformed kid. You haven't even been to the country and yet you claim to know everything about it. My Polish friends went to North Korea last year and not only did they stay alive, they actually enjoyed it more than when they had gone to other asian countries (Singapore, Thailand, Kambodia). They had a guide who let them wander around the city without him, he even said some stuff about the government that was not nice. They have cars, cinemas, restaurants, stadium(s), even the zoo. Of course there is poverty and injustice in the country but who are you to judge them from the safe spot from which you're writing these bullshit posts?

I didn't know that they brainwash folks in Poland too. Apparently you don't know anything about that country, try watching some documentaries

Brain-washed? Dude, his friends visited the country. Only someone who has actually been there has the smallest idea of what's going on. But yeah, let the media infect your mind nuclear threats and nuke parades.

So...does anyone know if they're doing anything on the interior or this just a bandaid? Honest question. I've slightly followed this and its seems pretty clear they didnt repair the old concrete, but it also seems to lack any evidence of any interior work.
