I think Chinese tour companies will offer a lower price. You still have to pay to fly to China though.

OMG, who took the time to do this? It's actually quite good and goes very well with the music.

Looks like Ray Cunningham made another trip to the DPRK. That means more close-ups!

I will get the Ryugyong photos up in two days. I have no bandwidth here in Beijing and the photos are spread among about 10,000 taken in the North. I will find them and get them up later in the week. Glad to be out after 17 days in the North.

I don't see much telecommunications stuff up in that 'new top' section. I figured Orascom would have jam-packed it, Tokyo Sky Tree style.

That's great Ray, you take some great pictures.

If you wouldn't mind would you also give an update to your trip last year? How have things changed in a year, if at all?

I agree, an update would be great. In particular, as they plan to 'open the gates to a powerful and prosperous country' in 2012, do you see signs of economic growth? Is there a lot of construction going on Pyongyang? How's the food situation and electricity supply compared to last year? Did you ask your guides about Kim Jong Un?

Well, no ones actually stopping all the "the Ryugyong is being built by slaves who have been eating grass since 1994 and is built out of paper mache and will collapse soon LOL LOL LOL" crowd, so a report from someone who has actually been there would improve this thread no end, IMO.

Particularly if its accompanied by excellent and informative pictures, as Zakura has brung before.
