there's a very high chance this project will run out of money again before it finishes. lOOl and this tower is exactly 10X + 10m higher than taepodong 2..

Hundreds of thousands of North Korean people have died of famine while monuments to vanity like this one were built. Maybe out of respect, this thread should be deleted.

I'm really surprised to see this Project back under construction. I exspected all the brackets for holding the glass in place to be badly rusted after being exposed to the elements for so long. Along with other problems for siting like this all that time.

That won't stop the tower existing....why not document it?

Also if it hasn't been said I'm going to say it now.

Its a North Korean company who want to start a mobile phone network in the country, and the government have said they can as long as they re-clad this building.

So that's what theyre doing...the inside will not be fitted out at all and the tower will not be used for anything.

Thank you Gothicform. I found it unfair and shocking that in any other thread the trolls would be banned, while in this one, they could be fine and dandy and the thread be closed instead. So I welcome your long-due decision to crack on them. This building is a real landmark and deserves a thread.

I think that's wrong... they're not just recladding the building... work is ongoing elsewhere... look at the cranes at ground level... also they mended the landings that previously were in bad conditions...

the building will not be habitable in the real sense of the word. there is a difference between remedial works to repair weathering and actually making it fit for occupation. they are doing the former, not the latter. i won't be surprised at all though if they do fit out the lobby and open up the top.

Millions of Americans rely on food stamps each year....and that number is growing whilst bankers and CEO's CONTINUE to take multi-million dollar bonus pay-outs...

There's absolutely no comparison between the quality of life in the U.S. and that of North Korea.

I could see them finishing one of the hotel floors near the top and using it to show off to people. I don't think it's the ugliest building in the world but it certainly isn't my favorite. Anyone know which direction the current main tourist hotel is in? Is the side with the facade pointing in that direction?
