Thats too deep - I was merely commenting on that picture, not the political runnings of North Korea or anyother country...

Anyhow, I have to say that this building looks pretty nice compared to how I thought it would turn out - although I have to say im not too keen on the fatness of this building...

I was pointing out the possibility of the Ryugyong's lighting being faked, not anything else. The hotel has never seen lighting, and back in November, not even the cladding was finished, let alone the interior.

It's so different and with so much history already, the more I see it the more I like it. In Las Vegas it would be just part of its unique skyline, being in North Korea is the real mind blower. I've developed an odd fascination with this building, looking almost alien that I'm anxious to see it completed. Even complete it'll have an aura of mystery to it.

That's what I find so beautiful about it! IMO this might be the perfect design and location for such a building! The only building that I find as beautiful as this one, (if not more) is Russia Tower.

You can be dumb and still use google: "Construction of the Ryugyong was intended to be completed in time for the 13th World Festival of Youth and Students in June 1989; had this been achieved, it would have held the title of world's tallest hotel."

For the 13th World Festival of Youth and Students in June 1989 and North Korea also had the idea to organize the Olympic Games with South Korea. Today will be used for tourists and for the North Koreans traveling to Pyongyang for different cultural, social or sports, for example a month ago there was a congress of Pioneers and traveled thousands of children from distant cities to the capital.
More than 100% for tourism, hotels are functional to the populars activities.

In VEGAS, surrounding with other towers : ok ! perfect

But, in this area...with all the ugly building around, it's the worst stuff i've never seen before... anyway, its represent the country...

Looks like a rocket TOY for kids... A 7 yo children can do the same design. I'm pretty sure the design was made by Kim Jong-il ...

I am sure this thing scares the heck out of Pyongyang's Little One's everytime they look out of their windows.

Jokes apart, I really wonder how the tower took the decade and a half slumber exposed naked to the natures fury, I really suspect the towers structural stability, or am I presuming wrong here ?
