Maybe they are aiming for April since its such an important month for them. This is going to be great as always.

Fortress of the Ultimate Woe?
Nice method the west uses to make fun of this building. The young ones who play this game are the most impressionable so naturally they will spread bias to them.

Although I will agree this is probably the most evil looking building in the world. Which is why I love it so much!

For its time, the building was more than outstanding.
Imagine that in 1989 there were only 10 finished supertalls - all in the US !

Not open before 2016?

Today, I visited the ITB in Berlin being the worlds biggest trade fair for tourism. And as even North-Korea had a stand I asked a men from Pyongyang when the Ryugyong Hotel will be opened. He expect it'll take at least 3 years until this hotel opens.

I went to the International Tourism Fair a few days ago in Berlin and actually visited the booth of the North Korean delegation. There was a French lady who organizes tours to North Korea. Although I currently do not plan to visit, I might keep that option open for the future. I actually would like to make myself an opinion about it on my own...

Would interior work really take 3 years to complete? Especially since one year has already passed of external completion?

Then again, this is an insanely massive building, and that's not including the entire podium area and rotating restaurants that must be completed in their entirety before the hotel opens. I suppose the plumbing and electrical systems must also be updated to Kempinski's standards, which are always high. It will be worth the wait once completed interior pics are released.

That park looks pretty nice!

Although I can't imagine how well it would be maintained if the regime fell. There are plenty of former communist-built parks that look like crap nowadays because nobody's taking care of them.

Relax. It looks good that way, and not all polluted with McDonald's wrappers like in America.

I'm glad this tower is in the middle of such a huge plot of land. That means no future towers can ever be built that close to it and ruin its dominance.
