Why is it still T/O? Isn't it finished yet? I'm tired to see this thread in this section forever

It'll be movable once Orascom finishes their section of the building. Plus, there are still cranes on the podium.

The one that was on top was standing for a decade and a half, but now it's long gone. The rest of them were put there in the last few years.

I think it's safe to say that every picture so far of the Ryugyong, online, was posted on this site, including that one, last winter, I think.

Hopefully next August we will see more photos of this spectacular, underappreciated structure.

Changjon Street is looking very impressive, I must say. You were over there? Just visiting? How was it?

Except my pictures, you mean. I visited at the end of June this year.

I was indeed - it was absolutely fascinating, going around and seeing how the North Korean people live. There is obvious 'control' over the population, but they seemed slightly more active than I expected them to be. I watched them practising for the Arirang Mass Games too, and we explored a couple of other cities (Sariwon, down in the south, and Nampo on the west coast). Pyongyang itself is a very interesting place - ugly in parts, but with some impressive density, and obviously some great buildings/structures like the Ryugyong, the Juche Tower and the buildings on Changjon Street to make up for it.

I should have said "including that one from last winter, I think,." I didn't mean all were posted last winter.

Did you stay at Yanggakdo or Koryo?

Neither, as a matter of fact. We stayed in the grounds of the British Embassy (my father works at the Embassy in Beijing and was invited to Pyongyang for a week, so we weren't part of a tour).

This tower is really inspiring, especially in the sunrise.
