Recent panoramic picture from Pyongyang, zoomable, with Ryugyong Hotel in the background.

Picture from amazing DPRK 360 project.

I like it; without a doubt, it is one of the most unique skyscrapers in the world.

It's not a skyscraper... It's actually a huge rocket that is supposed to take away all the elite people of North Korea and move them to outer space, where they will search a new planet or a new galaxy and conquer it.

...But yeah, it looks good.

Amazing, epic video. Love how it was shot. Without getting too political, there are parts of Pyongyang's cityscape which come off as quite attractive. Love the video at the skate park and the girl looking into the camera and smiling. Humanizes the place for sure. For every crazy dictator there are millions of people just trying to live their lives the best way they know how to, like most of us around the world.

Maybe the DHL van delivered the flat screen PC'c they rented for the video shoot.

It's actually a nice and "normal" city- but I guess that's the impression It's meant to leave behind.

What kind of an idiotic travel agency put their logo at the end for such a short time that nobody can read it

Adding life to a dead project. This seems interesting.

Have you ever seen Vice's Inside North Korea series? The computer lab they went into was largely fake- the computers were real, but a lot of the people in there were just staring at the screen. One guy was just looking at the Google screen! Only one guy looked like he knew what he was doing.

That being said, North Korea and Pyongyang does have its good parts. The subway and this building look great- but who knows when they'll complete it.

Doesn't matter, at least the skyline looks better with a finished exterior.

Yeah, but then again what's the point of building it if (and I mean if) it's never going to open?
