What is this kind of leftist bullshit? Seriously? Yeah, North Korea's biggest problem right now are evil corporations.

We'll only know if they suddenly release an update showing some completed interior.

But it's been hard to even find new photos, much less updates.

It looks so good but damn I want to see this done in my lifetime.
Please, North Koreans, do what us Romanians did to your Eternal Leader's friend Ceausescu and then finish this damn thing.

The path is right but if they ever will decide for this (fingers crossed) I think they were many other important things to do. For example feed hungry citizens...

And - in wave of rage - they can destroy the RH as a monument of tyranny.

Absolutely not. This is the only beautiful thing to come from North Korea.

Agree. It's highly unlikely they'll destroy the most impressive building in their country, one they've spent decades trying to get done.

This building would be so much better without that little tip with the antennas, but considering the country that it's in, its a really nice building.

any word about the integrity of this tower? i recall hearing rumors about failing concrete and elevator shafts not lining up, especially with it sitting open to the elements for 20 years. anyone work for the telecom that set up shop there?

Orascom would not have invested millions of dollars into it if it was anywhere close to structurally unsound.

Buildings with severe construction flaws tend to collapse during construction or shortly after, while this has remained standing for around 25 years.

i cant imagine they really care about the tower, they just wanted to be the first and only telecom in the country.

I agree with you, Orascom just doesn't care about the building, they care only about profit from their ventures with the North Korean government. As to the building itself, I don't believe that flaws as serious as those reported by the 90's report can be repaired in a way economic enough for Orascom to invest into it. Our current understanding of physics is far from complete, so there is always the possibility of unexpected phenomena, however as far as our current scientific understanding goes, this building should be considered unsafe for occupation. I believe demolishing it would be the best option of how to deal with the building's issues

And say the building collapsed and they lost everything they've worked for including their antennas. Then what?

Then they simply build a new guyed mast, just as every telecom company does when their guyed mast collapses. Guyed masts are collapsing all arround the world all the time. If you look into the SSP diagrams, the vast majority of guyed masts that have been destroyed collapsed, they weren't demolished, yet it never was considered a major problem for the telecom companies
