This could actually end up being a fantastic looking building. I hope one day North Korea will be able to build thousands of good looking buildings.

If you really want to bash North Korea, Go some other sites, not here!!!
Do you want me to repeat this again and again?

North Korea have the right to build anything on their soil
As far as I know, this hotel is being built by foreing capital, not from the money of the poor in North Korea.

The more forein capital invest North Korea, The freer society become.

this is a forum wherein people can exchange ideas, views and opinions...politics is unavoidable considering the circumstances of north korea...no one in his right mind will wish ill for NK and no have done so...i think it's much better if we just respect each others' opinions...

Indeed, especially since it should pretty damn obvious for everybody right now that this thread will always turn into a political discussion. No matter what other users or even mods say about it.

The only bad thing about the political discussion is that people won't look back 7 pages to see that somebody already posted the pictures.

cladding completely contradicts the appearance of what's underneath doesn't it?

And I still wonder who spread rumours about the structure being unstable and all.

Wow love the wonderful pictures love this tower very neat. hope there are lot's of regular update's coming in the future. Go NK.

Oh and noticed the gaps in the corners of the cladding what are they? ( is it going to be a balcony, big window or something else?)

It's really strange how they have done the cladding in the center of sections would have done none toward the sides in any place. These are the places where the deterioration of the concrete had been observed. It's also interesting to see how symmetrical the areas that have been clad are, unlike most buildings where the cladding is not done so symmetrically. I wonder if these areas are going to require more work or if maybe they're just cladding the large sections to make it look better and will only finish the top?

It would be nice to see some additional pictures of the base area see what work is going on there.

By simple sense,if the building structure is unstable, then whats the use of refurbishing and finishing this mammoth??,Im sure the current developer which the ones that is managing this hotel is improving the whole hotel's structure and facade,if the hotel's elevator shaft is crooked right now, then how they are gonna transfer equipments to the upper levels??,you cant always only depend a tower crane to do the whole job transferring stuffs to the upper level.

Anyways good to see this building being completed

It's funny how we always only see one side of the building. I can't stop wonder rather there is an progress on the other 2 sides :P

But it's an amazing building. It's going to be THE touristic must-see in the non-communistic future of NK :P Untill that time, i'm really wondering what they are going to do with the building. In once red that all the hotels combined in Pyongang can't even fill this building.

It is kinda fun. There truly is not much to discuss regarding the building. There is no official information, so we just have to watch from a distance and guess what is going on. People can't help speculation, especially since the parallels to pre WWII Germany are so crystal clear to western countries. You know, the ones who had to fight back...

I have a feeling they are going to use the Hotel for something else. I think they want to attract investors in the country. Probably Chinese Investors at the most. If North Korea wants to make sure their investors are totally comfortable, then they have to give them the best hotel they can accommodate which is this hotel. I am not going to be surprise if this hotel will be a 5-star or 7-star such as Burj Al-Arab. If not, then it will be close to it. The government will put all its money to this hotel and no one is going to complained due to the authoritarian system.

I wonder if someone got a link of what the render of the interiors or even the exteriors may look like?
