This building is simply magnificent, like something from the dark side of George Lucas' imagination. It's such a pity it's in a city I'll probably never visit.

For some reason I'm reminded of Flash Gordon.

Half Life 2 =)

Epic structure.

Hopefully NK gets more opened when time goes by and it could make it's own style!

Somehow all modern buildings are more or less similar but this is something really different.

They could create some communism skyscraper style

I only know that the railway has large electrified parts and it works.

The building looks like something out of a Hollywood movie. Nice to finally see it cladding up.

it looks better, but still pretty eery. But definitely looks futuristic, the foreground doesn't look right though with that big thing in the background lol

It would be nice if the structure were built in Seoul instead of Pyongyang, but today, the under-construction supertalls fell victim to an apparent April Fools prank by trading them from their usual cities to different cities. North Korea just likes to build huge structures which remain unused while otherwise keeping them well-maintained.

what happened? did they move the DMZ far way to the south, right?

This seems to be a funny day to all... but I don't want to imagine how it will be to change all the names and locations tomorrow.
Big headaches are predicted to 04/02

DPRK gave up the reunification by its communist force and changed its capital city's name to Seoul (means "capital city" in Korean language)

It is rather a compliment to the building itself-- it manages to look futuristic despite being a 3-decade old design. Bank of China in Hong Kong is a similar example.

Nice tower, but they probably left the whole country without eating.

That city is build on such a large scale, as if built for giants.
