But we have to think about the future. Money is now a problem but in the future It may not be that big of a problem. No body can convince me that selling a prime location in the business center of Sarajevo to some country to build its embassy is a good thing.

I agree and I don't think either it's worth a large embassy. But the economy at the moment isn't skyscraper worth and nor do I think alot of companies will find interest for large skyscrapers there. Unless, it's a hotel. But with Sarajevo City Center and Holiday Inn at the same location, there won't be need for more hotels in that area.

The economy in Bosnia has to focus on the country's poverty and until that is decent or humane if you wish, I will have a hard time seeing there's a need for skyscrapers. Even though they're attractive to see and have.

However, I think the worst location is where they placed ATT. If that location was cleared and improved it would've made sense for a skyscraper, but they've just placed a giant skyscraper in the middle of a miniature residential are. Clueless planning. Or so it seems, but we don't know much about the city's planning in the future.

Oh, it wasn't clueless at all - putting the skyscraper onto this hil, makes it look much higher than it really is - especially in the skyline.

On the other hand we habe now a very nice diagonal line - ATT (and main station) in the north - and the parliament plus MDC in the south

I don't think raising it in the skyline matters much to those who work there. Only for the skyscraper enthusiastic.
Not to mention, alot of the skyline photos are taken from a place where ATT is partially cut off due to a hill near by.

Transport, accessibility, attractivity etc. would all be SO much better at Marijin Dvor.

Yup they announced a long time after the construction began.

But so far I haven't seen any sign of work being done there. It's the only hope I have for ATT in terms of transportation. But yeah, I don't see how they're gonna make people move and give up their ground just like that?

Btw I hope they don't build that "Queen tower" next to the ATT. It makes no sense that they're investing in that straight after they've built a new skyscraper, where I assume they had planned the amount of office space needed for the workers of Avaz.

Unless they will use Queen tower for another purpose, but I don't see which?

My hope ist, that nothing overzized will be built next to the ATT - it will ruin the solitair-look of it - especially the ugly proposal of the socalled AQT

Actually, there is some work in progress. For the last few months, property issues were on table, and now they are demolishing those old small houses in front row and finishing paperwork for moving out the so called "GRAS minibus depot". Probably next year there will be future main entrance into city center U/C.

Totally agree about Queen tower, it's nonsense!

Ah that's good atleast. Because before they had that planned out, it seemed like you had to go to work with a heli or some magical non-built metro that leads to the ATT.

Overall the city's roads are immensely dense. The city is built up in a fashion where you either have a tiny road amongst a million houses, or, there simply isn't a road. Unless, the only decent roads are those where the trams are allowed to go. They're wide enough for transport decency. But that's only in the city center.

Imagine in a far future where Sarajevo will be getting more residents and they decide to move in on the hill side. There's gonna be some serious planning going on there, because the current roads are so small that it should only be allowed for golf-cars driving there.
