You just beat me too it (well 2 hours) haha yeah I was gonna say that the scaffolding has come down now so you can see the building itself and it actually looks really good! I like it quite alot. Definatley something different for once in the city!

Me personally, I don't like it, I think it looks like an old disowned warehouse building next to a really salty area making it fall into disrepair. Sorry, just my opinion - it may grow on me, it may not

I like the front and back but I'm not sure about the sides.

It gives off that impression in pictures but in real life its quite vibrant. Breaks up the grey and red brick. |

I think it looks great, all we need now is few more of those buildings next to it to get knocked down and some taller better quality builds to get put up.

I stand by my original opinion that i really like it, i like the dimensions of the windows and the corten spaces between. I can see though how many people may be sceptical, however corten buildings usually take a few months to settle in properly as a lot of the panels are not rusted to the same degree, however they will soon catch up. Everything that you see on the building that is silver is either unfinished or yet to rust. Even though in a strange sort of way I actually love the really grungy look the collection of half rusted bits are.
I think its a lovely addition to the street and actually has a really sweet contrast against those two tiny buildings either side ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I see that we can look forward to a stained pavement, or is there something missing?

![]() I like it. Shame they've ditched the full height windows, but it's to be expected with a student scheme and in any case I think black brick has a certain style and class that makes it a great alternative to glass; with this, the Sinclair Building and the new Coda designed student block soon to be appearing on the corner of Rockingham/Portobello, there'll be a fair amount of it in this area ![]() One thing that concerns me about the Corten box though is the size of the doors to the KFC unit. It looks very small, perhaps even a single door, and that doesn't lend itself well to a busy fast food joint. Expect much shoving and the pavement to be perpetually blocked at peak times. |

I like the way that the black brick ties in with Sinclairs up the road. I'll wait til everything has rusted before passing a final judgement, but at present it looks awful on the side elevations.

We have one!
Is it due to spalling [Parkhill]. It cannot be the Market as there is non at all on there. And the bloody tin trumpet on Brown Street is stainless so its not that. That leaves the Bramall Lane tin sheets as the Leppings Lane ones are galvanised. |
