really retro but not as bad as all the simple glass boxes. And its easy to reclad in about twenty years or so. (looks a little bit like the Pace university).

The bottom portion looks very nice but the top 3 quarters look very 1970's and outdated.

The shape is ok but the glass is lousy.

Hmm...too early to tell. The glass still have the protective layer. Let wait until it finishes, and judge.

Wow, this one had gone up fast! Anothers step to close the 'gap' between midtown and downtown.

it looks much worse in person, pictures don't do this tower justice. It looks like a prefab hot mess on crack.

839 Sixth Avenue is also called "Eventi" btw.

I kinda like this slender one, even though the cladding of the lower floors needs getting used to.

Here pics from Sep 12th, by kznyc2k:

...and two more by kznyc2k, the view from the West on Sep 13th.
The roof with the vertical slab(s) is just made, it seems. Maybe T/O?:

Very unusual design. Don't know whether I like it or not. It actually looks surprisingly high for New York standards (don't think 180 meters is very unusual to build there )

The window patterns on the bottom portions of the building should have been repeated all the way to the top, or at the very least the upper portion should match better. It just doesn't flow.

By itself, this building is quite ugly. No doubt.
But just take it for what it is: in NY, this is an average skyscraper, with an average budget. It still is a nice filler and its 'strategic' position will make it prominent and really impactful in the skyline.
Worthy addition over all. I like it!
