Suburban USA - Portland Metro Area

Hillsboro is a city west of Downtown Portland in the Portland Metropolitan Area. Its population is 88,300 as of 2007. Intel's largest site is in Hillsboro with three large campuses.

Beaverton is another city west of Downtown Portland and east of Hillsboro. It is connected to the Interstate Highway Network I-5 via Route 217. It is home to the Nike World Headquarters.

Two MAX trains. The west bound is going towards Hillsboro while the other is going to Downtown Portland. This was taken near El Monica Station.


El Monica Station is indicated on the red dot.

December 17, 2008 Hillsboro

Hillsboro neighborhoods. More snow fell...






Car dealers.




TV Highway again.


The tree covered area up ahead is Shute Park.


These mass constructed homes are only 2 years old. Built before the crisis.

despite whatever the purpose of this thread was, i think this town you photographed has 100x more character than typical suburban america:

There are nice parts of suburban Portland. And then there are the areas photographed. (Except the recent craftsman development.)

The purpose of this thread was nothing but to show the suburbs of Portland.
Indeed there are really nice ones which I hope to photograph soon.

December 20, 2008 Hillsboro Country

These are the farms in the outskirts of Hillsboro. Since there's currently a Winter Storm in our area, we had to avoid the freeway, and I thought it would be a perfect time to take pics.
