hii all, really i feel happy to be a part of this wonderful group. there are lots and lots of things happening in kerala, in the mode of developments, but not in the structured manner. there are so many constraints which delays the development activities of trivandrum eg. vizhinja, HC bench, road and infra development.... But the posts here are really amazing and i am regulare viewer of this site, as which gives happiness in mind that there is something happening in tvm rather than nothing....

WISH U ALL HAAPY XMAS & DEVELOPMENT FRIENDLY NEW YEAR

Zoom will not get security clearance

Yesterday amrita news telecasted an exclusive report that the Zoom's proposal will not get security clearance from union govt. GOI had decided not to give security clearance to Portia management services since 2007 because of it's involvment in the development of ports in pakistan.
Currently portia is involved in vishakapatanam port project, but that agreement was signed before 2006.

Kerala to set up international centre for free software
Source: kaumudionline
Quote:
T'PURAM: The Kerala government yesterday approved the bylaws for the proposed international centre for Free and Open Software.

Briefing newspersons after a Cabinet meeting here, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said the centre would be set up in Thiruvananthapuram.

According to official sources, the centre would offer consultancy services to the government departments, public sector undertakings, educational institutions and small business concerns for deploying free software for their various operations. The government is expected to set apart Rs 60 lakh for starting the centre.

He said the Cabinet also decided to constitute two land acquisition tribunals to acquire land on fast track mechanism for the proposed rail coach factory at Palakkad.

Achuthanandan said a behavioural paediatric clinic would be set up at the SAT Hospital here.

Referring to the statement of Finance Minister T M Thomas Isaac that the state would mobilize private investments, the Chief Minister said there was nothing wrong in doing so. ''Mobilising private funds for development could not be considered as privatization,'' he added.
Cheers!!!

I don't know what the middle class in TVM can afford, but the price according to the builder is Rs3200/sqft !! And recession or no recession in housing, only few slots are left for purchase (according to the builder)!!

This is a projects thread. We can minimise discussions here, that too only related ones.

If more forumers require the need for discussions, it can be done in a seperate thread, for discussions.

May be we can rename "Real Development" thread to "Chayakkada" or "Thattukada" to invite discussions on anything under the sun but related to TVM.

Thanks for the renaming of the thread.I find that the discussions on the projects invariably start to move towards a political discussion. My postings has been done to point out the fact that politics has to be kept out of the development process and it is only when you have a mature political environment that real development can take place. We need projects and more projects to usher in the city we have aspired for.Let SSC become the platform for projects to develop.

The old name 'Real Development' seemed like having no meaning at all. This is not my opinion alone, but other forumer's too.

The 'General Discussions' could be used for discussions pertaining to anything, be it projects, social issues and the like. And we are here as 'bouncers' to confine the discussions if it goes out of control.

Hope at least now the other threads would be out of meaningless stuff. Quality is better than quantity.

Rs.10 crore to be raised for hospital

Source: thehinduonline
Quote:
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The work on developing the Peroorkada government hospital here into a model district hospital would begin in three months, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs M. Vijayakumar said here on Thursday.

Addressing a press conference, the Minister said facilities at the hospital would be upgraded without increasing the bed strength. The construction of a main block and development of a full-fledged maternity wing were part of the plan.

Mr. Vijayakumar said that about Rs.10 crore would be raised from various sources for the first phase of the project. The integrated development fund would have contributions from the government, Thiruvananthapuram City Corporation, Nedumangad municipality and other local self-governments in the vicinity, the National Rural Health Mission and Peroorkada Nursing College. Besides, funds would be made available from the MPs Development Fund of Pannian Ravindran and Thennala Balakrishna Pillai. The City Corporation would provide Rs.2 crore in two instalments. The Rural Health Mission and the nursing college would provide Rs.1 crore each. Similar assistance would be available from the MPs fund also in instalments of Rs.25 lakh.
Cheers!!!

Request to moderator

I think some of the forumers here and their posts are doing more harm to this space than any good. This thread is slowly diminuting into a feckless balderdash continuously bombarded by essay-length narratives which majority wont bother to read. This has been the "projects and pictures" thread for the past 5 years and please let it remain that way.

If people want to discuss ideas and issues let it be done in the dedicated thread for it or in the "Chaibar" but lets not make this one a site for the trolls to type out their drivel.

Its time the moderator took some action !!!. Lengthy meaningless posts can be posted in the general section.

2 acres opposite to kedaram... I doubt this... KD junction is already cramped... Please provide exact location details...
