Website Hosting

I'm trying to set up a website, just a personal one, but will be putting photos on it, does anyone have any advice on hosting companies etc, as there are so bloody many of them it gets confusing.

It is a mine field. One day I'll get round to using a proper hosting service (currently do it myself using my broadband and my server at home!).

A few names people mention to me are 1and1.co.uk, Fasthosts, Ace-hosts. Thought you'll probably hear the odd bad story about all of them. But those are the ones that I see from time to time when these questions pop up.

I've used a lot over the years.

These are pretty good, there has never really been any down time.
Plus the control panel (For seeing web stats) is pretty good too.
A co.uk is works out at about 1.50GBP a month.

Cheers for your replies.

I had a look at 1&1 last night, wasn't too sure though, I have already registered .co.uk and .com domains and paid for them through Easily, wish I had looked around first now though.

you should still be able to transfer them easy enough, if u already own the domain names... I think

Yeah, I went with bigwetfish, thanks for LocksRocks suggestion, and just changed the nameservers, easier than I thought it would be.
