The camera is my cell phone and it is just wide enough to "stuck" into to ventilation opening for the windshield on the front panel.

Here is a quick photoshop work (that's not my car, but same model) of how it looks like (I'm to lazy to go down to the card (@23:30) and take a pic of it)

So I just put the camera there and can concentrate on the road. The only thing I worried all the way was that noone calls me, cuz then the filming is stopped

Superb vids, despite that it's a cell phone-made, still looks impressive! Did you go for a ride specially to make a movie of these raods?

Environmental Impact Assessment for A10 motorway Priedaine-Ķemeri construction has been completed. Construction of this stretch will start after 6 years.

I made some screenshots from the plans. The start of A10 motorway:

Planned junction and new bridge over river Lielupe to Jūrmala center:

End of the motorway near Ķemeri:

The rest plans (in PDF format) you can find here: http://www.lvceli.lv/LV/?i=107&DirID=158

And this should be the biggest road junctions' project outside Riga. Can't disapprove any of these drawings because looks cooloer than I was expecting on that stretch! Pity, it will take them so long to construct all that.. By then, I suppose, A10 all the way to Ventspils will be turned into a motorway, though that's a dream, but such plans exist quite a while!

Small correction, construction of Slāvu "loop" started in 2008, not in 2006.

Hybrid, I just adore your video of Eastern Highway! What an effort was done to complete this, thank you!
But still: 1. Construction of the junction with Viestura prospekts has already started - they are making ground works, and this is one and the same project as your mentioned "overpass over Meža prospekts", that would be one long overpass. 2. Some 2 kms before that junction on Viestura prospekts there's also planned a new junction that will go over railway Riga-Skulte and thus connect Tvaika and Viestura. 3. As for Brīvības iela junction you could've mentioned that there are long-run plans to make an overpass there also. 4. As well, in future Krustpils iela should become a part of all this project because it will stand in for Maskavas iela stretch that goes along Ķengarags.
Anyway, all the rest is great, keep it going!

Closer to A4 yes, but most parts will be completely new and will bypass populated places, like for example Ulbroka.

I wanted to include only the approved plans and actual constructions.

1.Currently the construction has begun of the Overfly over Meža prospekts and the on/off ramps ... At viestura prospekts we only have a few piles of sand ... no real construction ... there has been no change since I took the first pics of this place (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpo...&postcount=903 and http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpo...&postcount=912 ) a month ago ... just a bit more heavy machines and some more sand piles

2. Yes, I completly forgot about that junction when I was filming it ... remember only at home ... but I included it in the "project" part of the video

3. Never heard of those plans ... that's why I didn't mention them

4. The official info from www.rdsd.lv (http://www.rdsd.lv/?ct=austrummag) has only plans for the Eastern highway till Krustpils iela - here is the video I used for the begining: http://www.rdsd.lv/box/files/rdsd_au...ale_stereo.mp4 ... at the end it is mentioned that there are plans for continuing it along Krustpils iela, but currently nothing official.

Anyway ... thanks for the critique ... and mistakes noted for future videos/pictures

^ You're welcome! What I admired much in your vid is the combination of the project and the current condition!

As for Riga-Moscow highway, RipleyLV, maybe you know the dates of the further extension after Koknese? I suppose, all the way farther it will go on the A6 and switch to A12..

Not sooner than the year 2014.

Yes, Environmental Impact Assessment for Koknese-Pļaviņas section has been finished few years ago, but Pļaviņas-Jēkabpils section is currently under study. Seeing from the plans and combining both these sections the new highway will look like this:
Blue - currently U/C
Red - planned

Not bad, at least this way all the major cities and towns would get bypasses! Though, after Jēkabpils the road ends in such a strange mode..

AFAIK, it's unknown how it will end, there are 3 variants to choose from, first of them is like I draw, second ends a bit further where's Vīpe, and the third doesn't bypass Jēkabpils, it just ends where A12 starts. The second IMO is the best variant, but it all depends on the results from EIA and the public, then we'll see how this goes.

Probably you are right. As far as I know, money will be enough only for year 2011. Maybe some stretches will be reconstructed on 2012 too, but that depends on costs.
