This might be a language issue, but I'll ask here anyway: so is Latvia going to use local (though romanised) names along with Latvian names and country ovals of all foreign destinations?

Is that the first reversible lane in Latvia (and maybe in the Baltics)?

Not the first, in 2009 first reversible lanes were introduced over Mīlgrāvis channel in Northern part of Riga: http://goo.gl/maps/Qe0ud The ones on A10 are temporary, untill pavement works are completed on the other half of viaduct.

Are they building new service roads along A10, or are they widening the road to 2x4 lanes?

They're building new roads along A10, the highway itself will remain with 2x3 lanes.

The layout of Aleksotas bridge in Kaunas is 1x3. Few years ago with central reversible lane...

I've heard that it become not A6 but A12 after building Koknese - Pļaviņas and Pļaviņas - Jēkabpils bypass sections. It will simply join with existing A12. Sounds logic, doesn't it?

Great news about the much needed 3rd stage! Are there any plans now to start completing the missing link at the eastern ringroad between Piedrujas iela and Brivibas gatvé?

Currently there are some properties which are being bought in order to start construction works. Works are planned to start in 2015 earliest.

3rd stage in a video I filmed yesterday. Before playing, change the quality to HD.

And my video of the Southern Bridge

DIENVIDU TILTS

(after the 3rd stage is complete)

The 3rd stage begins at ~3:25 and don't forget to choose HD

and some pictures from the video:

The new road to Zieppniekkalna street

And we are going down

Looks a bit european (unusual for Latvia)

You can see that there is room for extening the road to Vienības Gatve, but it leaves us some funny curves on this side

And down we go once more

Almost like driving in to kingdom of darkness

Zieppniekkalna street is in the air

Let's go up for a change

And down from the bridge

This truck was a bit worried that he will get stuck (first time )

On the right side is the bridge left for the extension (so no road on top)

And now from the other side

A very long stretch of 70km/h max speed. A bit pointless to put up two extra speed limit signs (the truck is in the 50km/h zone)
