I think the setbacks are the best thing of this tower, instead of the cladding.

Wow, you don't see that many open-air observatories on skyscrapers these days. That will be a wonderful place to spend an afternoon.

So the open-air observation deck is facing the river? That means there won't be a good view of the skyline/CBD...

The towers design is great, i think the cladding could have been better.

Not sure if there will be public access. Unfortunately there is no 360° view either.

It looks like there will be some pretty good open-air views for both sides. Just one side is down on the last setback

The deck probably extends inside.

I wonder if this deck will be taller than the one on Canton Tower?

That would mean the two tallest observation decks in the world are so close to each other that you can see one from the other. Although i think Shanghai tower will also have a taller one

Now that you say it, indeed. And the Shanhai Tower observation deck won't be outside right? So the two tallest outdoor observation decks in the world will be within a mile from each other.

I wonder how well you will be able to see from the observation deck, though. From the render it looks like the facade extends above the deck considerably- I would say at least 4-5 meters. It would be a shame if you couldn't see the view unobstructed.

Yeah, but that is only glass. So the deck is sheltered from the wind.

No, you are correct. Originally there were going to be two identical towers, East and West, but they scrapped that plan and built the CTF instead of a second IFC.

Thanx Ivanator, so i was not dreaming

that IFC is much better looking than the IFC in Hong Kong, so just imagine how it would have been with twin towers
