before i joined this forum i never ever thought anyone would have any interest in the chrysler building, i knew it existed and was the tallest building at one place for a short while in the past, but that was it. in new york it just looks like a filler. empire state building a lot of people talk about outside the US when visiting New York, but i really doubt they even know what the chrysler building is.
as for kuala lumpur, it is a pretty famous landmark and in 2010 i travelled there from singapore just to see it, even after seeing burj khalifa before already, but that is just because it is one of my favorite buildings. there were a lot of tourists making pictures with the towers and it looked like they really do still appeal to a lot of people, maybe also because they still hold the title for the world's tallest twin towers.

Chrysler is only popular in north America I guess,. In Asia most people don't even know about its existence. I too never had any interest in the Chrysler, I only knew about it because of my interest in skyscrapers. However Americans seem to regard the Chrysler very highly

ESB on the other hand is quite famous all over the world. Maybe because it was the tallest building in the world for a long time?

Wally, you're a traveler and that's pretty envious, I'm American,, can't say I know this for a fact, but people are drawn to Chrysler because, it was the tallest, started in 1928, finish in 1930, and it was being built around the same time as the Empire State bldg. 1929 finish 1931 . The 2 competitors would'nt give the height out to the public, until complete. Chrysler finished like a year or so before ESB, has a Perfect spire and some pretty cool Gargoyles.

That's all I know, I don't know a hell of a lot more, but I figured I'd say that for the people who didn't know. I'm sure you know the full history, being a skyscraper buff, and You know me, I'm not giving you any sh**, I'm just letting other's know.

Don't know, that doesn't look much like a wall to me, more like a corner of a wall. But I guess the discussion on that could go on indefinitely.

Corner or not what matters is official definition and ranking if there is one.

Like what I said before the R&F developed buildings looked like they have survived a nuclear blast.

Actually there are two places in Dubai where you can get this shot. One is Downtown another is Dubai Marina

Also you can get the same shot in Shenzhen after 2 years, and in New York after 3/4 years

Man. Some of Guangzhou's towers are a little too wacky for my taste, but CTF and IFC make a seriously magnificent pair.
