That's right, but it will change when the tower will be lighted I knew, that Guangzhou is only around 100km from Shenzhen, but that you can see the tallest towers of Guangzhou from Shenzhen is amazing! I thought it would be impossible, because of the distance, the mountains and the air pollution!

There is absolutely no chance that photo is from Shenzhen. Not only are the angles wrong, the building lights are way too defined for something 100km away.

I also think is Dalang (Dongguan) with all the hills and electric power lines.

I fully agree. Add to that the modern designs. Well done, Guangzhou.

2017? It's almost finished

No doubt the cladding will be ready by the end of this year.

In my opinion KPF did a great job on this tower, its simple yet elegant and looks great from all angles.

Wow that cladding and everything just makes the CTF scream "tall". Not that it isn't! I wonder if one would get vertigo near it? Or rather something more akin to dizziness, I suppose.

I would have to think so. That's the tallest unbroken vertical wall in the world. Looking up from the base, those pinstripes must seem to diminish into nothing.

Old WTC evolved to this building, i dont think there's one to rival its verticality

It may depend upon how much Suzhou's Center tapers as it climbs but that may give the CTF a stretch. That or perhaps Golden Finance 117 / Tianjin's tower. But I don't think either of those will climb completely vertical as they go up (as far as the floor plates are concerned).

Short of the insides of the wings of Kingdom tower, this or Ping An win. But the cladding is far broader on Ping An than on here so the height is accentuated further.

Thank goodness for the mechanics venting to break it up. Much like how hotels have changing patterns or rail guards on balconies. Not to just prevent people from falling but to visually give the eye reference instead of psychologically creating a shaft effect.
