Just image what it would look like if you could actually see through the air (or breath) they really need to get their act together on air quality.

Actually they are in the process of it. You can't fix those problems overnight but if you do a little bit of research (this fairly recent BBC article is good for a start) you'll soon find out that China is actually by far (and I mean BY FAR) the largest investor into renewables. Larger than EU and US combined for that matter. Plus nuclear energy (where it's also the largest investor. Also by far). It will happen. Perhaps not this or next year but we're looking at 2030 or so which is a very good prospect for China and the rest of us.

Not only that. China's investment into renewable sources of energy helps others too. It makes technology cheaper due to economies of scale (and expiring patents too). Photovoltaics are a primary example of the late. Price went down so much that it's now a competitive source of electricity on either industrial or household level.

I also prefer the IFC tower.

But on the other hand, I also prefer the Chrysler Building in NY, it does not mean I would like a copy of it in the place of ESB.

Same here, glad they did not made just another copy of IFC.
