I agree. If there were no setback, this would look very much like the old WTC in NY, but the setbacks give this tower a nice modern twist.

World's Fastest Elevator Coming To CTF

Quote:
The days of elevator small talk could be coming to an end with Hitachi planning to deliver the world's fastest elevator by 2016. Capable of travelling at speeds of 72km/h (44m/h), the record-breaking lifts will be able to hoist passengers up 95 floors in less than 40 seconds. Khon Pedersen Fox's 530-meter Guangzhou CTF Finance Centre will be the first to house the super-speed elevators, amongst 13 other high-speed elevators and 28 double-decker elevators. Currently, the world's fastest elevator is by Toshiba and only capable of reaching speeds of 61km/h (38m/h) within Taipei 101. You can learn more about the super-speed elevators, here. via http://www.archdaily.com/500944/worl...s-article-show

72km/h is pretty impressive. Anytime in the future Megatalls or Hypertalls will probably have maglev elevators with speeds above 100km/h

That must be the best angle to see this tower.

I remember about this time last year it looked at a pretty similar level as today. What's taking so long?

This may be my favorite tower in this forum right now...looks better in reality than the renderings and I would agree with the comments about the simple uninterrupted vertical linearity of the cladding and the switchbacks at the top giving it a sense of a modern interpretation of a 70's style tower.

Super clean and crisp lines, great cladding and proportionally just right...has great vertical thrust and presence without looking either too boxy or tapering too thin into a needle point. It's a more subtle kind of gem and those are the best imo.
