this was just 4 months ago. Amazing how fast this is going up! It will for sure become a supertall in 2013 already if the speed is consistent

Can't wait to see more cladding. I love it when buildings have 'fins' like this.

This tower will look better than west tower but will still look like a plain tower by chinese standards.

Compared to Jin Mao and ST etc

sometimes the simple shapes are the better ones. Any crazy tower would look out of place, because this is a quite symmetrical skyline along the line from Canton Tower to citic plaza. At least for these two main towers i like it that they both are simple in the design, it has a bit like this Hong Kong feel two it. Two big rather simple towers seperated by water or a street facing each other surrounded by other amazingly tall yet unique buildings.

in a chinese saying, ST is something you can not ask for but given to have, it's not fair to make that as a standard.still CTF is a simple but elegant and even amazing tower to me, and to many other people I think.

IMO This skyline looks more reserved and formal, therefore elegant, than cities like Shanghai or Hong Kong. The latter are too postmodernist and therefore end up looking like Disneyland. The individual buildings are nice but as a city, IMO, they don't fit in with each other. Simplicity is a key factor in having a nice skyline.

I couldn't agree more. A skyline of only art deco or only internationalism looks great, but a solely postmodern skyline is cloying and downright appalling. It's great to have a few postmodern towers with more minimalist designs as fillers.

Plain is not bad. This great design does not need any crazy features.
