I appreciate the straight, simple and honest design of this supertall as opposed to all the silly "biomorphic" designs - pointlessly curving, twisting and undulating towers that seem to be in vogue these days because they convey some false image of "greenness" or sensitivity to the environment. These buildings will soon look very dated, and in many cases absurd. I'm still a believer in "form follows function". This tower is all business - timeless and very classy in its restraint.

in terms of rational buildings, I think China is a little bit lost in the flood of these insane amount of constructions as there‘s not much time for people to rethink and to adjust.Things have to get built ASAP or otherwis you will lost the profit competing with other developers.
Everything is happening so fast that China is becoming a test land for western architecture theories(mostly)without even thinking about it

that's a nice design, Guangzhou surely has the best looking skyline in continental China! (I can't stand the oriental pearl in shangai and I don't like so much the shangai tower)

Kohn Pedersen Fox is one of the best firms that makes this tower better and iconic.....
