Personally I find Canton Tower to be one of the most striking contemporary structures ever built. Maybe even the most striking. Night lighting makes it even better.

I see. Well, I'm not a big fan of bright, colorful lighting. I guess everyone has a different taste. The tower itself (GIFC) and this one are great buildings, no doubt about that.

the gap upwards is for the elevators and the gap at the first few floors is probably for the base

The cladding looks unreal up close. At certain angles it shines like a diamond and can see the IFC and other towers mirrored, and at other angles you just see the beautiful pattern they created for the cladding. It's already becoming my favorite building in GZ, and they aren't even close to finished yet.

Btw, thanks to zwamborn for posting the render of Grand City Plaza that is fininally out from under the ground and growing taller. I was wondering why this structure was takinng such a strange shape, the render looks awesome and it will fit perfectly next to Tee Mall, Grandview and the Ped street that leads to Canton Tower.
