It is being built on the plot in front of J2. Here is its thread, it hasn't been updated in awhile. But it can also be seen in the 1st picture in the last update by Kanye.

Well, they nowadays "celebrate" it in most Chinese cities. For example Shanghai is full of christmas decorations. Of course it isn't really about the christmas spirit, more about being trendy (imitating western lifestyle) and having another excuse for buying expensive shit.
(This of course also applies to a lot of people in the west.)

What a beautiful city, looks so clean from the photos above. Merry Christmas to all forumers.

Yes, it is certainly at 390m at the moment. There is another 1 floor truss belt hidden in the core framework. There are some ~14 floors until the next setback!

Indeed, Santa Claus is soon a stronger "brand" than Jesus in the west, and its all turned into a marketing scheme. For some businesses 50% of their yearly revenus are in relation to Christmas sale. Not to mention job parties with christmas dinner at resturants prior to X-mas too. So why wouldn't Chinese marketers do all they can to immitate it? China needs to grow its consumer society as well, and X-mas is a simple way of getting there.

Great thread though! This CBD is also growing on me. When I was there 2.5 years ago I felt it was a bit superficial. But with a few more skyscrapers and some tearing down of the lowrises in the middle there, it will be great!
