Long back, NEKRTC had named their sleeper services as Swarnahamsa. KSRTC can try that

There was a regular A/C sleeper running on this route for a long time. They recently replaced it with a Corona. Apart from this, there is a non-a/c sleeper too which runs to Sirsi from Bangalore.

The departure timings from Sirsi:

Airavat Volvo dep at 20:00.
Corona A/C sleeper dep at 21:45.
Non A/C sleeper dep at 21:15.

The Non AC sleeper built by Prakash which is currently running was the AC sleeper bus which was operating previously between BLR-Sirsi-Gokarna, it was converted to Non AC sleeper around 3 years back after AC unit became faulty and terminated at Sirsi

No, my work domain is in Datacom R&D, I have friends in KSRTC and most of them seen while travelling, I travel a lot

How is KSRTC occupancy in bangalore-kerala & ban-AP route? Both volvo & non volvo services? KSRTC mumbai service is fabulous. But they don't have non volvo services. If they start non volvo service in ban-mum route considering KSRTC speed they may take 24 hrs..:P

BLR - KL occupancy is excellent on weekends and 50% on weekdays, on weekends they usually operate 2-3 extra Airavata to EKM, 1-2 extra Airavata to Kottayam, 2 extra Airavata to Thrissur, 2 extra Airavata to Palghat, 2 extra RH to Calicut and Cannanore

BLR - HYD, Vijayawada, Tirupathi and Mantralaya is blockbuster for KSRTC, they have overtaken APSRTC on HYD and Tirupathi routes, on weekends they usally operate 3-4 extra Airavata to HYD and 3-4 extra Ambaari to Tirupathi, they have also made inroads to Nellore and Kurnool
On long weekends HYD witness more than 10 extra Airavata buses

Now BLR-Mumbai road is very good, even if KSRTC drivers crawl, it should not take more than 20 hours. Regarding KSRTC obsession to FE, i am also getting annoyed, drivers goto top gear ASAP and don't change to lower gears even when engine is struggling and causing vibrations and also Airavata and Airavata CC never exceed 90 KMPH, too much excessive importance to FE

North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation was established in the year 01-11-1997 with the jurisdiction of 6 districts (Belgaum, Dharwad, North Canara, Bagalkot, Gadag & Haveri districts).

The corporate office of NWKRTC is situated at Hubli, under which seven division headquarters situated at Belgaum, Hubli, Sirsi, Bagalkot, Gadag, Chikkodi & Haveri and 46 Depots are functioning under the administrative control of respective divisions and one Regional workshop at Hubli having one bus body building unit, one Regional Training Institute at Hubli.

Operation Details

NWKRTC operates 3892 schedules with strength of 4315 vehicles.

NWKRTC covers 15.50 lakh kms and carrying 21.50 lakhs commuters every day.

NWKRTC jurisdiction covers 6 revenue districts, 44 talukas and 4596 villages and serving 4428(96.3%) villages with transport facility.

NWKRTC operates 2293 Ordinary, 1829 Express, 137 Executive Rajahamsa, 36 Meghdooth(A/c), 6 Volvo(A/c) and prestigious 14 Sleeper Coach(A/c) services, which connects different destination of Intra state and Interstate.

NWKRTC has 136 bus stations.

NWKRTC is utilising the services of 21,433 regular employees, which includes Officers, Supervisory and Administrative staff, Mechanical staff and Drivers and Conductors.
