those temporary yellow lines ar not strongly glued to the asphalt because they must be easilly pilled off. that's why they get easily deformed.

Where are you from? I had no idea that somewhere on the earth the speed limit (and any prohibitory sign) is still valid after the intersection.
How do those turning from the intersecting street know, what speed limit apples on the street?

Do bad drivers count?
We get a lot of tourists who rent campervans and travel the country and to get up to the motorcamp near my house, the road splits into two different one way systems. This easily confuses some and we end up going up a narrow road the right way and end up coming face to face with a large camper coming the other way.
Also, this is a house in Baldwin Street in Dunedin which boasts the World's Steepest Street.

That isn't true. For example, in Austria, sign isn't repeated after the intersection but it is still valid. But then, on the sideway, you have a sign telling you what speed limit is on the main road you are connecting to.

Is there often congestion at that spot? Man, we should introduce that on the A2 in the Netherlands, that would be fun (except for those driving there)

The sign says "Road closed for winter".
