that depends ...

if you write it in Thai than it can be one word.

Sometimes the words are parsed to make it easier for foreigners to read.

fortunately, it is not all in one word

The official name of Llanfair is "LLANFAIRPWLLGWYNGYLL", which is the post town.

What do you mean extra charges? I don't get it. The cost of sending has to do with the speed/distance.

no. usually you ahve standardized envelopes. if you send mail in non-standardized envelopes, you pay extra fee. the same - address has strictly defined space where should it be written. if it is written out of that space, you guess - extra fee or if it is heavier than it should be (there are actually classes of weight)

Yeah, that's what I though when I saw the sign at the entrance to a motorway, in the UK there is the same law, but no signs.

Almost. If there is additional speed limit on British motorway, let's say 60 m/h, to cancel that limit mentioned sign is applied. I recall 2 examples: M4 going out of London, just after Brentford and M275 when joining A27.

Didn't know where to post this:

This sign is located on the AP-8, near the city of San Sebastián (Spain). Lots of Poruguese and Moroccan people who live in France use this highway to get to their countries especially in summer.

Yea I see some weird mistakes or obstacles in this thread. As for the Belgian ones, I'm familiar with that. I'll never forget how many times my parents went the wrong way when we came back from vacation when I was little. If you are near to the border of the Netherlands and Belgium (coming from Liegé and going to Maastricht), there is a sign that says Maastricht sort of hidden in the trees/green bushes. Maybe Chris knows what I'm talking about. Besides that, the space you have to switch to the far right lane is limited and the far right lane is very short. I'll look it up sometime.

I've seen this kind of sign before but they usually have sets of lights on top, if they're flashing you tune to station. In some tunnels, like in Maryland they actually transmit and block all other stations if that's what you mean.
here's an example:
