There used to be a tree growing in a street in my city (i never saw it though) but i remember when it was on the news cause it fell down in a storm. (it was all rotten out inside)

Oh, you see that a lot. Probably the most abundant (and hilarious) one is:

[sign indicating a bicycle path]

[sign underneath: "dus niet brommen"]


Especially the ambiguous meaning of the word "brommen": in this case, it's referring to the "bromfiets" or moped, but it can also mean 'to grumble'. In other words: you shouldn't be grumbling that you can't drive your moped on a bicycle path...

How come they don't move those poles when they build a road there? I assume there's another company that has to take care of that which is a lot slower to do its job than the road construction company?
